Connie Virginia Smith, 75, passed away, Wednesday, June 6, 2012, peacefully with her children by her side at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.Â
She was born Nov. 24, 1936 in Shelley to loving parents, V. Melvin and Emma V Bradley.
She was the first of four precious children, followed by sister, Nina, sister LaRene, and only brother, Carl.Â She was raised and educated in Bingham County, completing her education at Shelley High School in 1954.Â Connie grew up learning the value of hard work and honest ethics , which she passed on to her children.
Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Robert â€śKeithâ€ť Pendlebury, 83, of lifetime resident of Blackfoot, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at his home in Blackfoot.
Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Keith was born on December 2, 1928 in Blackfoot, Idaho to John Henry and Cecile Nell Harper Pendlebury.Â He attended Blackfoot schools and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1947.Â
Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Marian Jensen, 88, of Blackfoot passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho.

Boiseâ€” Convicted killer Richard a leavitt of Blackfoot died at 10:25 a m in the death chamber at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution. Leavitt asked for sedatives several times during the night before execution Tuesday morning. â€¨Leavitt was convicted of the 1984 mutilation and murder of Danette Elg in Blackfoot.

BLACKFOOT â€” Bingham Memorial Hospital announced Monday the filing of a Notice of Tort claim against County Commissioner Ladd Carter and Bingham County Planning and Zoning Commissioner Chairman Lee Hammett.
A tort is anything that is not a contract. In general terms, a tort is a civil wrong, involving a breach of duty or a negligent act by one person which results in injury or loss to another, and gives the injured party the right to bring a legal action for damages. Personal injury claims are tort claims.
BLACKFOOT â€” Timmi Hutchings is appropriately nicknamed "Full Throttle." This will be the third year in a row she will compete in the Wrangler Division of the High School Rodeo Association.
At the Idaho State event that took place in Filer, Idaho, June 1-3, Timmi won barrels; was second in goat tying and placed third in poles.
She has the hardware to prove it. At state, she won two belt buckles, a saddle, a horse blanket, goat tying rope can and $900 for earning the all-around title.
TWIN FALLS â€” The Blackfoot Bronco American Legion team made their way back into the Twin Falls Wood Bat Tournament championship game for the fourth consecutive season and on Saturday Blackfoot laid the wood to Upper Valley as they won their third tournament in those four tries with an 8-6 victory.
"It was an even game," Blackfoot head coach Jeff Katseanes said. "Upper Valley are legit. They were in the state tournament during the high school season so they're a very good team."
AMERICAN FALLS â€” Familiar foes collided on the diamond Saturday evening as the Snake River Panthers and the American Falls Beavers squared off on the Beavers home field for an American Legion double dip.
At the end of a miserable day weather wise, the Panthers picked up a pair of wins over the Beavers as Cash Cardona struck out 16 would be hitters in game one in a 13-9 win and in the nightcap, Snake River pounded out 13 hits in a 10-6 game which was called when the automatic sprinkler system turned on in the home half of the sixth inning.
