BOISE â€“ Members of the families of murder victims Stacy Baldwin, Nolan Haddon and Susan Michelbacher witnessed the administration of justice on Friday.
They watched from outside the execution chamber as Paul Ezra Rhoades, convicted in the 1987 deaths of the three, was executed. He received a lethal injection of drugs in the execution chamber of the Idaho Maximum Security Institution at 8:53 a.m. and Erwin Sonnenberg, the Ada County coroner, pronounced Rhoades dead at 9:15 a.m. Friday.

BOISE â€” Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter released this statement today following the execution of Paul Ezra Rhoades.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) â€” Idaho prison officials executed Paul Ezra Rhoades on Friday for his role in the 1987 murders of two women, marking the state's first execution in 17 years.
Rhoades, 54, was declared dead at 9:15 a.m. at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution after being administered three separate drugs that make up the state's new lethal injection protocol.
In his final statement, Rhoades said goodbye to his mother, apologized for one of the murders he was convicted of, and forgave state officials for the execution.
THOMAS â€” It took a while longer than expected but in the end, the Rich Dunn era of Snake River Lady Panther basketball got off to a successful start as the Lady Panthers opened their season with a 46-37 victory over Sugar-Salem on Thursday evening.
The start of the game was delayed by an hour and fifteen minutes due to the freshman and junior varsity games running long. In fact, the junior varsity game had to go into overtime before it was decided by a game winning basket by Kara Polatis with a second to go.
Ronald E. Wolfley at age 48 passed away suddenly at home on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011.
Ron was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Arcado (Archie) Montez and Helen Villasenor who raised him and he so lovingly adored; Ronâ€™s daughter, Casey Mulkey, passed from leukemia; his uncle, Terry Last and brother, Scotty Scott.
Ron was the beloved husband of Lousie Wolfley. Ron loved to take his wife camping and on four-wheeler rides in the mountains. He also enjoyed doing whatever it took to get a rise out of Louiseâ€¦just poking fun for a little amusement. This was quite entertaining at times.
BLACKFOOT – Lt. Paul Newbold is counting down the hours to the execution of Paul Ezra Rhoades on Friday. Lt. Newbold was just 27 years old and had been a detective for less than one year when Rhoades' reign of terror in Bingham County began in 1987.
BLACKFOOT â€” As they talked about Friday's scheduled execution of their son's killer on Wednesday, Junior and Julie Haddon often became emotional.
Paul Ezra Rhoades murdered 20-year-old Nolan Haddon at an Idaho Falls convenience store on March 16, 1987. If the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals doesn't intervene, as Rhoades' attorneys have asked it to do, he will be executed at 8 a.m. on Friday.
"No, it don't," Junior Haddon said of Rhoades' death bringing closure. "It don't close anything. It just finalizes it."
IDAHO FALLS â€” Early foul trouble spelled trouble for the Blackfoot Lady Broncos as they fell to 5A Idaho Falls 51-33 on Wednesday evening.
"We have both of our guards pick up those three early fouls and it really changed what we wanted to do," Blackfoot head coach Merle Smith said. "It did give us a chance to get other girls on our bench into the game which gave them all some valuable experience."
Blackfoot and Idaho Falls traded baskets throughout the first quarter with Kylie Coby and Boo Burnett scoring 4 points each in the opening stanza as the Lady Broncos took a 10-8 lead.
Doris Dean (Taylor) England passed away June 8, 2011 in Fairbanks, Alaska.Â Her family will lay her to rest on Nov.19 in the Moreland Cemetery.
The family would like to visit at 10 a.m.Â at the Northwest Stake Center, 95 North 740 West Moreland. A service will follow Â at 11 a.m.
Marilyn Fackrell Barrus, 76, of Firth passed away Tuesday, Nov.15, 2011 at
her home. She passed away peacefully with her sweetheart by her side.
Marilyn was born March 23, 1935 in Blackfoot to Parsons LaMonde Fackrell and Ida Marie Hansen. She attended school in Blackfoot.
On June 11, 1952 Marilyn married LaMar Noble Barrus in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they had six children, Kanin, Guy, Nanett, Steven, Jeffrey and David.
