BLACKFOOT â Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday for only Blackfoot residents. Electors are voting on Blackfoot city council seat number four. The candidates are Butch Hulse and Clair Broadhead.
Electors living in the following precincts will vote in these locations:
Â° Precincts 1, 2 and 3 will vote in the Mountain View Middle School.
Â° Precinct 4 will vote at Stalker Elementary.
Â° Precinct 5 will vote at Ridge Crest Elementary.
Â° Precinct 6 will vote at BPAC.
To be able to vote, each elector must present photo identification.
BLACKFOOT â Two candidates for Blackfoot City Council will face off in a runoff election Tuesday after no candidate received a majority of the vote in the November election.
Butch Hulse, who received 49.7 percent of the vote in the November election, and Clair L. Broadhead, who received 37.4 percent of the vote, are running for Seat 4 on the city council. A third candidate received 13 percent of the vote.
The seat is currently held by Robert Layton, who did not seek re-election.
BLACKFOOT âÂ There are some things a mother should never see. Three years ago Diana Empey received a panicked phone call from Patricia Widerburg, the woman caring for her two children. Empey rushed to the daycare to find a street lined with fire trucks, ambulance and police.
âThe cops grabbed me and said this is mom. Trish [Widerburg]looked like a zombie and just kept saying âIâm sorry...Iâm so sorry..â and then a paramedic grabbed me and said âcan you keep it together? This is going to be horrifying.â I was so confused â I had no idea what was going on,â said Empey.

POCATELLO â The United States Postal Service is looking into closing the mail processing operation at Pocatello and moving it to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Pocatello and all of Southeastern Idaho is part of the Salt Lake Postal District.
Another proposal is to extend the delivery of first class mail from overnight to two-to-three day delivery.
"There would be no changes in retail and other services," said Salt Lake postal district manager Ken McArthur. "There would be no changes in acceptance time."
BLACKFOOT â The 33rd annual Bingham County Christmas Tree Fantasy auction Thursday night raised nearly $19,000 for local organizations. The Fantasy continues today from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Needlecraft Building at the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds.
The tree titled "Nutcracker Sweet" decorated by Bingham Memorial Hospital's Radiology Department received the highest bid of the night, bringing in $1,750. The decadently decorated tree is a child's dream filed with lollipops, gingerbread houses, candy canes and giant snowflakes wrapped with pink and green.
BLACKFOOT â The 33rd annual Bingham County Christmas Tree Fantasy is underway at the Needlecraft Building of the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds. The Fantasy will be open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. through Saturday.
The tree auction will be Thursday at 7 p.m. Admission is $2. The Gift Boutique and Sweet Shoppe will be open throughout the week at the event. Lunch and dinner will also be available for purchase at the cafe.

BLACKFOOT â The Children's Community Christmas Project is currently working to help provide toys to the children in the community who would have little or no Christmas. Between 650 and 700 children have a happier Christmas each year through this project.
