BLACKFOOT â€” About 50 people attended the Planning and Zoning (P&Z) hearing Wednesday night to discuss the Proposed Code Revisions Final Draft.
One point of order came about when it was pointed out that P&Z have issued two final drafts. The older version states it was last printed on April 22, 2011. The newer version is dated June 7, 2011.
The dates would be of no consequence, however, the final drafts are different.
Under section 5.2.49 Wind Turbines, the April draft has number 9 that states, "[Wind turbines are] Limited to no more than two (2) wind turbine per parcel."
IDAHO FALLS â€” Idaho Falls starting pitcher Robert Penny showed that he's not afraid of no Ghosts as the North Carolina native turned in his best performance of the young season, working seven innings of three hit baseball, to help lift the Chukars to their third straight victory with an 8-4 win over Casper on Wednesday evening.

BLACKFOOT- In the bottom of the fourth inning of game one with the Twin Falls Cowboys, the bases were loaded and Blackfootâ€™s Cole Mansanerez stepped up to the plate and hit a towering grand slam over the left field fence to pull the Broncos to within 8-7.
â€śI was practicing in the cage before the game and it felt good so I knew that today was going to be a good day,â€ť Mansanarez said.
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah â€” Michael Clarence Holmes, 63, passed away on July 3, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a battle with cancer.
Michael ( Mike ) was born in Pocatello to Richard LeRoy and Pauline Seidel Holmes; he was the eldest of eight children. Mikeâ€™s dad worked construction so the family moved around during his childhood. After high school Mike joined the Army and during his tour in Vietnam he drove a supply truck. After returning home he worked as a fireman in Blackfoot.
Ileen was born to Stanely (Pug) and Eva Going on April 1, 1955, in Blackfoot. She passed away on Dec. 14, 2010, in Aurora, Colo.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Tera DeLoera, and her grandson Jack. She is also survived by brothers Stan, Dennis, Neal, Curtis and John and their families. She was preceded in death by her brother Leon and her parents.
To celebrate Ileenâ€™s lovely and loving spirit, family and friends are invited to the home of Stan and Susie Going, 198 S. 900 W., Blackfoot on Saturday, July 9, 2011, from 3 to 5 p.m.
Berniece Melba Jones, 69, of Blackfoot passed away, Monday, July 4, 2011, at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 1, 1941, in Aberdeen to William and Christine Morris.
Berniece was raised in Aberdeen and attended grade school and high school there.Â She studied nursing at Idaho State University and continued her studies while she worked as a registered nurse in Boise and Portland, Ore.Â She moved to Blackfoot in the early 70â€™s and had resided there since.Â She worked as a registered nurse atÂ Bingham Memorial Hospital until her retirement.
BLACKFOOT â€“Â Jesse Smith needed an Eagle Project and Kenn Condon had just the thing. Smith joined forces with Condon to help organize a helmet give away that will take place at the Safety Fair during Pride Days.
Condon says the Safety Fair is really an event within an event.
"Our intent is to be able to replicate everything Jesse is doing this year into the Safety Fair in years to come."
BLACKFOOT â€” The City of Blackfoot will pay the Environmental Protection Agency $92,000 in the 2012 fiscal year for unpaid invoices from 2003. The City Council approved the amount during their meeting Tuesday.
The outstanding invoices are from the upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant, which was completed in 2003. The City of Blackfoot worked with various agencies including the EPA to fund the project.
An audit by the EPA in 2008 found the city owed more than $1 million to the agency for the project. After further review, that figure was reduced to $92,658.
Lisa Christensen Warwick, 45, of Goshen passed away on June 30, 2011.
Lisa was born on Sept. 15, 1965, in Blackfoot to Barry L. and Elaine Steffler Christensen. She was one of seven children born to the family. She attended school in the Firth School District and Career Beauty College in Rexburg, obtaining her beauty license.
On Nov. 2, 1984, she married her sweetheart and best friend, Randy Richard Warwick in Basalt.
Kent George Gentry, 56, of Blackfoot passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
Kent was born on April 8, 1955, in Blackfoot and was raised by his mother Bonnie and stepfather Frank Gentry.
