Betty Lou Bowen, 91, of Meridian, passed away Nov 10, 2013, at The Gables of Shelley due to natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov 15, 2013 at the Blackfoot East LDS Stake Center, 1289 Mt. Putnam Dr. in Blackfoot. A viewing will be held at the church from 9 - 9:45 a.m. prior to the services. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Meridian Cemetery. R. â€śBrentâ€ť Lindholm, 79, of Blackfoot, peacefully passed away Nov. 9, 2013, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.
Â Brent was born January 11, 1934, in Iona to Ross Lindholm and Reva Jenkins Lindholm.Â He grew up and attended schools in Iona and graduated from Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls.
Ruth Arsula Dudley Evans, 88, passed away Nov. 10, 2013 at a local care center.
She was born July 24, 1925, the oldest of three children of Moses and Della Dudley in Malad. She graduated from Malad High School in 1943 and went on to graduate from the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City.
She met her future husband, William Anthony Virtue, while working for Western Union in Mountain Home. They were married Dec. 24, 1945 and together had two children, Ann and Michael.Â Her husband passed away in 1959. She married Marion Evans in April of 1973.Â They were later divorced.
POCATELLOâ€”The announcement that the Heinz manufacturing facility in Pocatello will be closing within the next 6-8 months, wiping out 410 jobs, was like a punch in the gut to the entire region.
KPVI News 6 broke the story on its website Thursday afternoon after being tipped off by a local Heinz employee. Station officials contacted Heinz headquarters prompting the release of a statement by Michael Mullen, Heinz Senior President of Corporate and Government Affairs. Mullen confirmed the impending closure of the plant.

BLACKFOOTâ€” Susan Jensen, founder of Rollin For A Cause, has been successful in achieving her goal of having the Diabetes awareness ribbon printed on the front page of every issue of the Morning News for the month of November a reality.
"It's amazing what you can do if you go through the proper channels and just actually ask for something like this [the ribbon in the paper] to be done. It's amazing," said Jensen.
The month of November is National Diabetes Awareness month and today marks World Diabetes Awareness Day.
BLACKFOOT â€” Three presenters who are part of the 19-member board of Your Health Idaho were at the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center to explain the Idaho health exchange to the 22 people present.
"I came mostly for my married children; to learn how it will affect them," said Deanna Lamprecht.
She said she received some answers.
The presenters were Steven Weeg, Todd Bateman and Randy Gardner. Weeg explained the requirements of the insurance. Bateman gave an overview of comparing different insurance plans. Gardner explained how to use the Your Health Idaho website.
