BLACKFOOT — Mountain View Middle School (MVMS) students honored their principals Thursday as part of National Principals Month.
The idea came from the Snake River Junior High, Bonnie Harwood, student council advisor said.
The morning announcement at MVMS declared, “We’re sending our principals to the tropics; please make it like paradise for them.”
In the morning, students greeted the principals with leis, lounge chairs and orange-pineapple drinks.
BLACKFOOT — Gubernatorial candidate Keith Allred stopped in Blackfoot Thursday to meet supporters and to answer questions from concerned citizens.
The Democratic candidate drew approximately 100 people—from staunch supporters to skeptics—to a meet and greet event Thursday evening.
Allred, who believes in a government by and for the people and not for special interest, said his two priorities are education and reducing the tax burden for Idahoans.
BLACKFOOT — Basic American Foods is providing a new benefit for employees — free healthcare.
A new health clinic located at the Blackfoot Basic American facility, will provide employees and their families with free office visits, free laboratory tests and free prescriptions. There are approximately 450 employees at Basic American in Blackfoot.
“Our main goal is to keep employees healthy,” Human Resources Manager Ken Carrol said.
