Elks promote drug awareness

October 25, 2010

BLACKFOOT — Five kids who committed to remain drug free received a new bike Saturday from the Elks Drug Awareness Program.
The kids entered a raffle sponsored by the Elks Lodge. The drawing was conducted at the Drug Awareness Trailer at the Eastern Idaho State Fair last month. The bike giveaway is just one of the programs the Elks use to teach children and parents about the dangers of illegal drugs.
“It feels good to give some of the kids something back,” said Joe Hewlett, B.P.O.E. Drug Awareness Committee chairman.
