BLACKFOOT â Blackfoot Community Center administrators are seeking the publicâs help in developing the programming and design of their proposed new facility.
The Community Center is hosting an initial interest meeting for anyone interested in serving on a Building Committee. The interest meeting will be Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Blackfoot Community Center at 157 W. Sexton.
Community Center Executive Director Ashlee Howell said the committee is an opportunity for the public to provide input on the new facility.
âWe hope to get a variety of people interested and involved,â Howell said.
BLACKFOOT â Offer a kid an apple and he will run a lap? That was the plan at Ridge Crest Elementary Friday and it worked.
In order to promote healthy lifestyles, students at Ridge Crest have the opportunity to walk or run laps during afternoon recess with volunteers standing at a checkpoint offering encouragement and punching walking cards. The physical activity is meant to help establish healthy habits for life.
The turnout on the track was much higher Friday when students learned there was a free apple after walking the first lap.
