BLACKFOOT â€” October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and two local events are planned in Blackfoot and Fort Hall for Thursday.
The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Tribal Health and Human Services Victims Assistance Program is conducting a mile walk, breakfast and program to raise awareness of domestic abuse. Registration for the walk will begin at 8 a.m. at Timbee Hall, with the walk beginning at 8:30 a.m. Following the walk, breakfast will be served followed by a presentation from Domestic Abuse Judges David Hooste and Brandelle Whitworth.
A former Moreland resident is among the 25 most powerful women in finance.
Thatâ€™s according to American Banker magazine, which included American Express Centurion Bank president and CEO Andrea Moss on that list in its October issue.
â€śIâ€™m quite surprised and happy about the award,â€ť Moss said during a recent telephone interview.
