Domestic violence awareness activities Thursday

BLACKFOOT — October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and two local events are planned in Blackfoot and Fort Hall for Thursday.
The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Tribal Health and Human Services Victims Assistance Program is conducting a mile walk, breakfast and program to raise awareness of domestic abuse. Registration for the walk will begin at 8 a.m. at Timbee Hall, with the walk beginning at 8:30 a.m. Following the walk, breakfast will be served followed by a presentation from Domestic Abuse Judges David Hooste and Brandelle Whitworth.

National bankers honor former Moreland woman

A former Moreland resident is among the 25 most powerful women in finance.
That’s according to American Banker magazine, which included American Express Centurion Bank president and CEO Andrea Moss on that list in its October issue.
“I’m quite surprised and happy about the award,” Moss said during a recent telephone interview.
