November 8th
UPDATE 5:20 p.m. — A total of 17 Battelle Energy Alliance employees were potentially exposed to low-levels of contamination. Of the potentially exposed employees, six have tested positive for low-levels of contamination based on external surveying.
All 17 employees are currently undergoing full body scans at the Central Facilities Area Medical Facility which can take up to an hour per person.
External air sampling and radiological surveys indicate no contamination has been detected outside of the Zero Power Physics Reactor facility.

November 7th
BLACKFOOT — Law enforcement officers will be working at Rupe's Burgers Saturday, Nov. 19, to raise funds for the Santa's Helpers program.
From 6-9 p.m., officers with the Blackfoot Police Department and deputies from the Sheriff's Office will be taking orders and waiting tables at Rupe's. All tips will be donated to the Santa's Helpers program, and Kevin Rupe has agreed to donate a percentage of the proceeds from those three hours to the program.

Chief Judge Luanne Olsen and election official Paige Hyde in Precincts 3 and 23 put up a precinct map at Mountain View Middle School in preparation for today's election.
Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at regular polling places. Elections for city positions, tax districts and the permanent ambulance override are up for a vote today. To vote, electors need to bring picture identification to their regular polling places.
BLACKFOOT — The Environmental Protection Agency has added a series of follow-up public meetings focused on the FMC Operable Unit of the Eastern Michaud Flats Superfund Site.
There will be three additional public meetings—the first Nov. 15 from 4-7 p.m. in the Chubbuck City Council Chambers and two Nov. 16 from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Fort Hall Business Center.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole says it won't consider a clemency request from condemned inmate Paul Ezra Rhoades.
Rhoades is scheduled to die by lethal injection on Nov. 18 for the murders of Susan Michelbacher and Stacy Baldwin in 1987.

BLACKFOOT — As a member of the United Nations Military Armistice Commission, Monroe (Monte) Beach of Blackfoot was an eyewitness to history on July 27, 1953.
That was the day the fighting in the Korean War officially ended when Lt. Gen. William K. Harrison of the United States and his counterparts in the North Korean army and Chinese volunteers signed 18 tri-language documents at Panmunjom.
While that sight is stored in his memory banks, another more important one is stored there, too.
POCATELLO – Verna Anderson sits in the living room chair, rocking her granddaughter Olivia and quietly wiping tears as she talks about her beautiful, funny daughter Stacy Baldwin. Baldwin was just 21 years old and starting the life she wanted when Paul Ezra Rhoades abducted and killed her in 1987.

Rhonda Wixom paints the exterior of the Nuart Theater in Blackfoot Friday. Wixom has been working for the past several months to paint and restore the theater. It is part of a restoration and improvement project that included painting, purchasing the new new sign, new microphones and new marquee lettering. The Blackfoot Urban Renewal Agency provided funding for the project.
