On an annual average basis, the price Idahoans paid for gasoline in 2011 was higher than any prior year, even surpassing the watershed year of 2008 when the Gem State averaged $3.29 a gallon and set a record daily price of $4.16.
BLACKFOOT — Bingham County Relay for Life will be hosting a kick-off event tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the Meridian Center, 310 N. Meridian St. Suite D in Blackfoot.
The event also serves as the monthly Chamber of Commerce After Hours event. There will be refreshments, games and information about Relay for life teams and upcoming Relay events. The public is invited.
This year's Bingham County Relay for Life will be June 15. The event provides an opportunity to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember lost loved ones and to fight back against the disease.
BLACKFOOT — Blackfoot attorney Justin Oleson will represent Bingham County on the Eastern Idaho State Fair Board.
"I am looking forward to doing what I can to represent Bingham County," Oleson said.
The Bingham County commissioners made the appointment this week.
"The commissioners asked if I was interested and I agreed to do it," he said. "I try to do what I can to help out the community.
