Snake River Junior High School Principal Christopher Cox was released from jail Thursday morning after appearing before Magistrate Judge Charles Roos on three felony counts of sexual abuse with a minor under 16 years old.
Roos issued several no contact orders at Cox's first appearance. Cox was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim or the victim's family, no contact with minors under 18 years old and was ordered to avoid any places where children under 18 may congregate.
Facial and Oral Surgery Associates has been in business in Pocatello since 1949. It has been in business in Blackfoot for the past year.
"We've always had a very good relationship with the doctors and dentists here in town, but it was good timing for opening a satellite office," said Dr. Mark Baker, who joined with Dr. Shawn Jepsen in welcoming guests to a Chamber After Hours event at their offices in the Parkway Plaza on Wednesday.
"Our patients like that they don't have to travel now," Dr. Baker continued.
"We've been very well received since we came in," Dr. Jepsen added.
Â Long-time Bingham County resident Mark Bair is running for the District 1 County Commissioner seat.
"I appreciate the community service people have given; I have time and the desire to repay some of those kindnesses," Bair said.
Bair grew up on a farm 20 miles west of Blackfoot. He and his family farmed the same land he grew up on until they sold it about four years ago. Bair and his wife, Sherrilynn, now live in the Kimball area near Firth.
"On the farm, I did the budgeting," Bair said. "Farm economies go up and down.
