Popular coffee shop moves

Wake Up Call has moved and is open for business at its new location just west of Blackfoot at 320 W. Hwy. 26. Business hours are from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
On the menu is a good variety of coffee and non-coffee drink choices, fruit smoothies, Frappuccino, expresso, flavored steamers and hot chocolate as well as muffins, cookies and biscotti.
Drinks come in small, medium and large sizes. Prices range from $1.25 for drip coffee to $5 for specialty drinks and “everything in between,” said owner Christie Oleson.

Chase ends in crash, arrest

Following a short chase on Saturday, Blackfoot Police arrested a 19-year-old man on a variety of charges.
Aldeshon S. Nappo was charged with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence, Felony Eluding of a Peace Officer, two counts of Injury to a Child, Failure to Purchase a Driver's License and on a warrant out of Bannock County.
According to a news release, the pursuit lasted approximately one minute. When an officer attempted to make a routine traffic stop, the suspect pulled into a parking lot, then tried to maneuver out of the lot in an effort to avoid the officer.

Auto team shines at Weber State

The Blackfoot High School auto service team of Josh Spiegel and James Montgomery took fourth out of 22 teams at the Weber State auto service competition last Thursday.
Spiegel and Montgomery each won $100 worth of Matco tools, $1,500 scholarships to attend Weber State and a brand new Toyota engine for the school.
The Weber competition is a team event, said Spiegel. Students must be high school seniors to participate.
Teams came from high schools in Idaho, Oregon and Utah. A Vail, Ore., team won the competition.
