Local musicians create Hambone's undefinable sound

With the voice of a smooth and mellow middle-aged man and the acoustic stylings on the strings of a guitar from a 28-year-old, Bart Bradford and Steven Muldenhauer create a sound that is undefinable. Bradford said, "I wanted to be more like Metallica but it comes out more like Simon and Garfunkelesque."
Bradford and Muldenhauer create an unlikely duo which came together after both were in the musical "Brigadoon" which The Blackfoot Community Players presented at the Nuart Theater.

Rockford Elementary gets new principal

David Kerns is the new principal at Rockford Elementary in the Snake River School District. He is also the federal programs director.
He brings lots of experience to these positions in that he is entering his 30th year in the education profession.
Kerns grew up in Potlatch.
“I grew up surrounded with dry land farming,” Kerns said. “This is like going home to me.
“I see it out my window every day,” he said.
Kerns attend the University of Idaho before going on an LDS mission to Bolivia.

Two Bingham County men receive Hometown Hero awards

Two Bingham County natives were among 10 recipients (featuring veterans, businessmen, teachers and scientists) who received 2012 Idaho Hometown Hero Medals from U.S. Senator Mike Crapo, R-Idaho, at a poignant and patriotic ceremony at Stephens Performing Arts Center in Pocatello on Friday.
The awards are in celebration of individuals who show commitment in both their personal and professional lives to improve communities throughout Idaho and a create a better world for the future.
