A buffalo stew feed, sponsored by the American Legion Riders, is open to all comers. The meal will be served from noon to 8 p.m. today at Jensen Grove in Blackfoot.
The buffalo meat is fresh, said organizer Dave Breshears. So is the fry bread that will be served with the meal.
The cost is $10 per person. All proceeds will go to the American Legion Legacy Fund.
BLACKFOOT — Two Blackfoot area youth are spending part of their summer at a prestigious National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine in Boston, Mass.
Joslyn Phillips and Davian Martinez, both incoming sophomores at Snake River High School, were invited to attend and each received a $500 scholarship from the program.
BLACKFOOT—Local veterinarians are reporting that it's a bad year for ticks in East Idaho and while the little bloodsuckers will latch onto just about anything, dogs seem to be their main victim of choice, followed by humans.
Laddie Curran, who purchased a home on Riverton Road three years ago, said he was shocked when just in the past couple of weeks he found two ticks on himself and a total of seven between his two dogs. Two of the ticks on his dogs had already filled up with blood.
