Probe widens at Bingham Memorial Hospital

There are lots of questions and investigations going on at Bingham Memorial Hospital (BMH) since current and former employees have been speaking out about certain actions there.
The Idaho Attorney General's office "indicated that they will likely be able to assist," said Robert Cooper, Director, Constituent Information & Communication officer for that office.
Blackfoot Police Chief Dave Moore said his department is working with the Attorney General's office.

King Tut: Treasures of the Tomb opens Friday at the Museum of Idaho, 200 N. Eastern Ave. in Idaho Falls.
Ten years in the making from the artisans of the Pharaonic Village in Giza, Egypt, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this exhibition displays a dazzling collection of Tutankhamen's (King Tut) legendary treasures and recreates the richest archaeological find of all time.

SHOPLIFTING: May 23, 8:34 p.m.: A caller at Walmart reported having two females detained for shoplifting.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE: May 25, 1:11 a.m.: A caller said two people are getting into people's cars.

CAN'T MOVE ON: May 25, 10:09 a.m.: A man said he arranged to buy a camper about a month ago but it fell through because the seller couldn't provide the title. He said he got his check back but still finds the situation odd and wanted to know if anything else could be done about it.

County prosecutor asks AG to intervene in hospital investigation

Bingham County Prosecuting Attorney Scott Andrew hand delivered a letter to the Idaho Attorney General's (AG) office on Tuesday asking that the AG's office take over the prosecutorial responsibilities regarding activities that have occurred at Bingham Memorial Hospital (BMH, Inc.)
The letter has also been sent to BMH, Inc.'s attorney, Andrew said.

Blackfoot woman's killer executed

Nearly three decades have  passed since the mutilation and murder of 31-year-old Danette Elg of Blackfoot. Her body was found July 21, 1984.
At 10:25 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, Richard Albert Leavitt died for her murder.
Was justice served? a reporter asked former Bingham County Prosecuting Attorney Tom Moss. He had successfully argued that Leavitt was guilty of murder during Leavitt’s 1985 trial.
“Yes,” Moss said in answer to that question during a press conference following the execution. “Do you want more? Yes, I think justice was served.”

Idaho Falls Police seeks suspect

IDAHO FALLS— Idaho Falls Police Department is seeking help in finding information on a man reportedly breaking into vehicles at the Winco parking lot on June 7th.

If you recognize the man in the photos or have any information that may be helpful please contact the I.F. Police Department at 612-8655.

Leavitt pronounced dead at 10:25 am.

Boise— Convicted killer Richard a leavitt of Blackfoot died at 10:25 a m in the death chamber at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution. Leavitt asked for sedatives several times during the night before execution Tuesday morning. 
Leavitt was convicted of the 1984 mutilation and murder of Danette Elg in Blackfoot.
