Janice H. Thurman of Blackfoot, 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, while surrounded by family.Â
She was born on Feb. 12, 1939, in Blackfoot, to Robert and Velma Hansen.Â With the exception of one year in Salt Lake City, she lived her entire life in Blackfoot, where she was known by many.Â
Alma Jemmett Reid, 88, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at her home near Blackfoot.
She was born Dec. 21, 1921, in Shelley to Clifford and Daphne Webb Jemmett.Â She was the middle child of a loving family of four girls and five boys.
Alma was raised along Cedar Creek in the Blackfoot River Mountains.Â She boarded part time in Firth to attend high school, and then went on to business college in Salt Lake City, Utah.Â She worked for the Navy Depot in Clearfield, Utah, until returning to Idaho to marry her cowboy sweetheart, Fred Reid, on Dec. 27, 1942.Â
Seth J. Taylor, 86, passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at home.
Roger M. Williams, 55, passed away Sept. 18, 2010, in the arms of his loved ones at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 22, 1955, in Idaho Falls to Alton E. Williams and Joyce Elizabeth Obrey Williams.
Roger grew up in the Idaho Falls-Iona area and attended Bonneville High School.
He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) for 27 years. Prior to working at the INL, he worked at Ermalâ€™s and had an automotive repair shop at his home.Â He was a member of the Eagles Lodge.
Kay Perkins Lyman, 95, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15,
2010, in Blackfoot.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at the Blanding LDS Stake Center in Blanding, Utah. Family is under the care of Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot. Condolences may be sent to the family at email@example.com.
Seth J. Taylor, 86, of Emmett and formerly of Blackfoot died Friday, Sept. 17, at home.
Services pending and under the direction of Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett.
Alma Reid, an 89-year-old Presto area resident, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at her home surrounded by family following an illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Hawker Funeral Home.
Cloris Butler Benson, 97, passed away peacefully on Sept. 8, 2010, at home. She looked forward to being reunited with loved ones that had gone before her.
She was born Aug. 3, 1913, to Ethel Jackson and Marion Butler in Driggs where she grew up, went to school and worked on the farm. In 1932 she went to Provo to attend BYU.
On Sept. 12, 1934, she married Winston Benson in the Logan LDS Temple. They raised their family in Blackfoot where she taught kindergarten for 22 years.
Cornell Harold Baxter, Jr, 56, of Blackfoot passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
He was born March 20, 1954, in Blackfoot, the son of Cornell Harold Baxter, Sr. and Shirley A. Christensen.
Cornell has lived his entire life in Blackfoot and attended schools in the Blackfoot District.
He married Dee Williams; together they had a daughter, Courtney. and then were later divorced.
He was a welder and a member of the Sheet Metals Workers Union. He had worked the last 10 years for Industrial Metals.
LeRoy Rueben Penoyer, 71, of Blackfoot passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls from heart failure.
He was born April 20, 1939 in Groveland to Harry Albert Penoyer and Elsie Akers
LeRoy lived his entire life in Blackfoot. He attended schools in Springfield and Blackfoot.
He was stationed in Germany in the Army as a truck driver.
He married Barbara Jean Dixon. They had seven children and later divorced.
