JoAnn Samuelson, 76, of Blackfoot passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at her home.
She was born Sept. 6, 1934, in Idaho Falls to Leora Scouten. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1952.
JoAnn married Merlin Floyd Samuelson in Blackfoot in August of 1953.Â They were later divorced.
JoAnn was a secretary for the Blackfoot School District and worked for Nonpareil and King B.
She enjoyed playing pool, crocheting, sewing, quilting and crossword puzzles.Â Â Â Â Â Â
Vera Clark Oram was born October 5, 1920 to George H. and Louise Parker Clark in Blackfoot, Idaho.Â She was delivered at home by her Grandmother Clark.Â Her grandmother had also delivered her five sisters and one brother before her, and the two more sisters that were to come later.Â When she was four years old the family moved to the last house on West Center Street and that is where she and her brother and eight sisters grew up.
Vera Oram, 90, of Blackfoot passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are pending under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.
Michael Lyle Lish, 55, of Blackfoot passed away Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Stewart Hoover Post #23. Marvin Earl Christiansen, 76, of Blackfoot passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.
He was born Dec. 11, 1934 in Blackfoot, the son of William Earl Christiansen and Orissa M. Hansen.
Marvin graduated from Snake River High School.
He was a member of the National Guard.
On February 1, 1969, he married Judy Deon Winterbottom in Blackfoot. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 2, 2006.
Jack Schild, 76, of Blackfoot, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at The Gables Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls. He was born Dec. 27, 1933, in Pocatello, to Henry Schild and Ruth Lanham Jefferies. Jack attended school at Tyhee Elementary and Irving Jr. High in Pocatello.
On Dec. 31, 1956, he married Wilma Doris Dear in Elko, Nev. Doris passed away in 1973, and in 1976 Jack married Renae Richardson in Blackfoot. Renae helped him finish raising his five children.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mayo Sherald Truman, 86, of Blackfoot passed away Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at his home.
Sherald was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Huntington, Utah to Iver Oscar and Meleta Cloe Black Truman. Sherald was raised in Huntington, attending and graduating from Huntington schools. He then spent two years at Utah State University.
On April 3, 1952, Sherald married Beverly Bingham in Groveland. After they were married, they lived in Helena, Mont., for a time, then moved to Blackfoot in December of 1956 and resided there until his passing.
Cordell Don Ostberg, 33, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2010.
He was born April 28, 1977, at Blackfoot to Don Vearl and Judy Ann Lee Ostberg.
He attended school in Snake River School District, graduating from Snake River High School.
Cordell has lived in the Blackfoot area most of his life.
He worked in carpentry and construction.
Cordell loved the outdoors, camping and fishing and riding motorcycles and horses. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Our Dad, Grandpa, Brother and Sweetheart passed away on Pearl Harbor Day at the age of 86. We honor his tremendous example and the legacy he left of giving love and service for all he knew.
Dad was born in Marysville and grew up primarily in Felt and Ashton where he ran trap lines as a young man and farmed as an adult.
Dad went to the Naval Recruiting office on the first day after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He served throughout the war aboard the U.S.S. Tangier.
Keith R. Randall, 86, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 at the Idaho State Veteranâ€™s Home in Pocatello.
It was inadvertently left off that he was survived by a sister, Marjorie Allen of Portland, Oregon.
