Roger Patterson, 59, of Sugar Grove, Ill., passed away April 7, 2011 in Geneva, Ill. He was born Feb. 6, 1952, in Borger, Texas, to TJ and Virginia Patterson.
He was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing in the hand bell choir; he was a member of their Evangilism and Membership committee; and was active on a church committee to start a community garden.
Roger retired from United Airlines and was currently working at Hesed House, a homeless shelter in Aurora, Ill.
Doris Andersen Smith, 97 a lifelong resident of Blackfoot, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 9, 2011.
Doris was born on Feb. 18, 1914, in Blackfoot. Her parents were James Henry Andersen and LeVerna Call Andersen. She attended Blackfoot High School and graduated in 1932. She attended college in Pocatello for two years and received her teaching certificate. She taught school in Gorveland for two years. She married Thomas B. Smith In Pocatello on June 21, 1936.
