CENTERVILLE, Utah â€” Lee W. Buttars, 91, passed away, Sunday, April 24, 2011.He was born Dec. 5, 1919 at Clarkston, Utah, the son of David Alexander and Rosetta Loosle Buttars. He grew up on the family farm and from an early age assisted his father and brothers with farming chores.
He graduated from North Cache High School in 1938. He earned his B.S. degree in Agriculture with a minor in chemistry from Utah State Agricultural College (USU) in 1948.
Lee served an LDS mission to the Western United States from 1941 to 1943, serving mostly in Wyoming and South Dakota.
Salvador S. â€śSaviorâ€ť Hernandez, 86, of Blackfoot, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello surrounded by family.
He was born Sept. 2, 1924, in Blackfoot, the son of Nicholas and Rosario Hernandez.
He grew up in Blackfoot and attended school at St. Margaretâ€™s Catholic School in Blackfoot. In 1944 he joined the US Army and served in the South Pacific during World War II, where he was wounded in action. He received the Purple Heart Award and was honorably discharged in 1946.
