Jacquelyn Sykes Johnson,83, passed away peacefully at her home in Inkom, June 21 2012, surrounded by her family.
Jackie was born in Roberts, Idaho on December 6, 1928 to Jack and Pearl Sykes. She was the eighth of nine children. She was raised and went to school in the Mudlake / Territon area.
At the age of 16, Jackie met and fell in love with a returning soldier. Dean Chapman Johnson took Jackie as his bride on December 28, 1945. They celebrated nearly 64 years together before Dean passed away in October of 2009.
Kenneth Nils Whyte, 87. Born Oct 23, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Died Jun. 19, 2012, in Mesa, Ariz., from cancer.
Kenneth lived in Groveland until 1969 when he moved to Ariz. Kenneth served as the secretary of the Eastern Idaho State Fair from 1966 to 1969.
He was preceded in death by son, Kent, brothers Stan, James, Lamar and sister, Barbara Belnap.
Kenneth is survived by wife, Evelyn, children, Lynn, Brenda Rae Lundberg, Keith, and Launa Lee Weller, 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.
Burial in Groveland Cemetery planned for noon, Monday, Jun. 25, 2012.
Sonia Thyberg Norris, 47, passed away at her home in Meridian on June 20,2012.
She was born April 27,1965, to Samuel Tad and Roneen Thyberg in Oceanside, Calif.
Sonia lived and worked in Blackfoot for many years. She worked at Bingham Memorial Nursing Home and The Potato Expo. During her time at the Expo she helped out with the 1997 flood in Bingham County, organizing getting food out to most everyone affected by the flood.
Fern Moore Hammond, 97, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the home of her son, Boyd Hammond.Â She was under the care of her granddaughter, Pamala Hammond, and the Blackfoot Home Health and Hospice.
Fern was born May 3, 1915 in Blackfoot to Phillip Richard Moore and Myrtle Lutz Moore.Â Fern was the eighth child in a family of 11 children.Â She attended Blackfoot High School and graduated on May 17, 1934.
Fern was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Â She served as a librarian at the Thomas Church for many years.
Sharrell Esther MacDougall Walker passed from this life on June 13, 2012, at home.Â Her life was taken as a result of a brain tumor.Â She was lovingly cared for by her husband, Marion, and many of her family members. It was an honor to serve the wife, mother, and mother-in-law who has cared for us over many years.

Maxine May (Thomas) Cushman, 93, of Blackfoot passed away June 15, 2012 as the result of an auto accident.Â
She was born in Spokane, Wash., in 1919.Â She was a long-time business owner in Blackfoot and Pocatello, owning Cushmanâ€™s Paint and Glass, Cushmanâ€™s Crafts and Cushmanâ€™s Bookkeeping and Tax Preparation.Â
Margaret Celestia Borresen passed away June 16, 2012, in Boise.Â
Margaret was born June 16, 1919, in Richfield to Bill and Celestine Tomlinson.Â Margaret attended Idaho State University, receiving a two-year degree in Education, transferred to the University of Idaho, where she received her BS in Home Economics.Â
In 1943, while attending University of Idaho, she met the love of her life, Con Borresen, and they were married for 50 years.
Gloria Elaine (Silva/Hetts) Stear, 85, of Meridian died on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at a local care center. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Southern Baptist Church, 689 S. Fisher, Blackfoot, ID. Arrangements are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.
Gloria was born Jan. 21, 1927 in Stoughton, MA to John and Maria (Gregorio) Silva. Her parents immigrated from Maderia, Portugal but met and married in Stoughton MA where they raised their family - John, Lilliana, Miki, Bernard (Lucky), Kay, Gloria and Gabriel.
Charles Blair Thompson, 76, of Blackfoot passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
Charles was born on July 15, 1935 in Driggs, Teton County.Â He spent most of his childhood in the Tetonia Area, where his father owned a contract farming business and his mother was a teacher.Â They later moved to the Idaho Falls area.Â Charles attended school in Driggs.
He met his wife, Marie Harker, in Idaho Falls.Â They were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Nov. 27, 1957.
Â Â Â Â Â Â Clara Wernette Hobley Lent, 97, of West Valley City, Utah formerly of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away peacefully, Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Pioneer Valley Hospital in West Valley City, Utah.
Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â She was born on Sept. 21, 1914 at home, 2 Â˝ miles S.E. of Firth, Idaho, the first of four children born to Eugene and Flora (Handwerk) Wernette.Â
