Barbara Cammack Anderson, 81

Barbara Desa Cammack Anderson, 81, of St. George, Utah and formerly of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at her home in St. George.
 She was born Nov. 15, 1931 in Sterling at the home of her parents,  Rulon Francis and Desa Jane Theobald Cammack.  She was a premature twin, weighing slightly less than two pounds.  Her twin brother, Rulon, passed away shortly after birth, but with her parents' devoted care,  Barbara survived and grew into a delightful little girl.

Johnny Dell Nugent, 70

Johnny Dell Nugent, 70, of Sterling, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 at his home.
He was born Nov. 19, 1942 in Sterling to Arnold Napoleon and Della Phillips Nugent.  Johnny was the 12th of 14 children.
During his childhood, Johnny attended schools in the Grandview/Springfield area.  He attended Aberdeen High School where he met his only love, Susan Joanne Anderson.  They were married Oct. 21, 1959 in Rigby. 

Elder Colt Daniel Kunz, 20

Elder Colt Daniel Kunz, 20, passed away Oct. 9, 2013 in Tampico, Mexico while serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was born on Aug. 11, 1993 in Rexburg and was the youngest of 10 children born to Ryan and Ranae Hathaway Kunz.
Colt grew up on the family farm in Victor. Riding horses, moving pipe, riding four-wheelers and motorbikes and working alongside his family were many activities he enjoyed. He became an Eagle Scout at age 13.

Helen Stoddard Patrick, 88

Helen Stoddard Patrick was a loving mother, devoted wife, and friend to many.  She was born in 1923 in Kimball and passed away at her home on Oct. 9, 2013. Helen spent her life making others feel welcomed, respected, and loved.

Marengo-Gary Lynn Carter

Marengo-Gary Lynn Carter, born Dec.7, 1937 in Mount Clemens, Mich., died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, peacefully in his home, surrounded by his children, after a long illness. Gary was a devoted husband and father.
Gary met Carol Grace Beyer in Mt. Clemens where on June 25, 1960 the couple married and spent the next 53 years together. Carol Grace Carter passed away one day prior to Gary, only one short day apart. Today they are in paradise where they will be together forever.

Frank Walker Galloway, 87

Frank Walker Galloway, 87, of Blackfoot passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at Pocatello Care and Rehabilitation in Pocatello.
Frank was born Sept. 28, 1926 in Gibson
to Charles Walker Galloway and Lillian Dixey.  He was raised south of Blackfoot on Diggie Road.  He attended boarding school in Fort Hall and then was drafted into the Army.  He served in the Army from 1941 to 1945 in WWII and the Korean Conflict.
 In June of 1948 Frank married Georgina Teton in Blackfoot.  Georgina passed away in November of 2008.

Richard “Tazzy” V. Peyope, 45

Richard “Tazzy” V. Peyope, 45, of Fort Hall passed away, Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 from a fatal car accident in Gibson.
Tazzy was born in Blackfoot on June 8, 1968 to Ardith M. Peyope and Wilford E. Peyope.  He was one of four children and grew up on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation.  In his youth, he kept score for “Sak” and liked hanging out at the Timbee Hall Recreation Center.  He was competitive and usually took first in local Halloween dances and in hand game tournaments.  He also attended the annual Bear dances in Utah and Colorado.

Ernest Chavez, 74

Ernest M. Chavez, 74, of Blackfoot, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 9, 2013.
Earnest was born August 11, 1939 in Victoria, Texas, to Alfredo and Julia Chavez.  He later moved to Corvallis, Montana where he married Janie Casias.  They were later married in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, in Blackfoot, Idaho on December 23, 1980.  Through this union they had 10 children, 35 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Ernest retired from Kraft Foods, he had also worked for Nonpareil Corp.

Carol Grace Carter

Carol Grace Carter, born Jan. 4, 1941, died peacefully at her home in Marengo, Ill. on Oct. 8, 2013 after battling a long illness. Carol was surrounded by her family as she entered God’s Kingdom.
Carol was born in Detroit, Mich. where 19 years later she met Gary Lynn Carter of Mt. Clemens, Mich. Gary and Carol were married on June 25, 1960. The couple have three children, Brian (Holly) Carter of Elgin, Wendy (Mary Beth) Carter-Siddons of McHenry, and Kevin J. Carter of Rockford.

Glen E. Kirkpatrick, 92

Glen E. Kirkpatrick, 92, a former Blackfoot resident, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 in Portland, Oregon of age related illness.
Glen was born June 3, 1921on his grandfather’s homestead on Riverton Road in Blackfoot to James and Mary Cotton Kirkpatrick.  He was the grandson of William and Henage Garrett Kirkpatrick, one of the first homesteaders in the Blackfoot area, arriving in 1866.  He spent his youth helping his father farm.
 He attended school in Blackfoot, and high school at Gem State Academy in Caldwell.  He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
