November 19, 2014

Craig Ellis Peterson, 64, passed away Nov. 14, 2014, at his home in Firth, Idaho, surrounded by family. His battle with pancreatic cancer was courageous.
He was born April 27, 1950, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Ellis Peterson and Dorothy Tressl Peterson. He was raised in Kimball, attended Firth High School, and graduated from Idaho State University with a master's degree in Nuclear Engineering.

Jewel Eldean Christensen Smith, 86

Jewel Eldean Christensen Smith, 86, a lifetime resident of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014.  
Jewel was born on Jan. 6, 1928 to William Dewey Christensen and Elva Catheren Nelson Christensen in Blackfoot, Idaho. Jewel graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1945 and attended one year of college at Idaho State University.  

Cyprien “Cyp” Gentillon, 95

Cyprien “Cyp” Gentillon, 95, of Pingree, Idaho passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014.
Cyp was born Dec. 28, 1918 in Firth, Idaho to Cyprien and Marie Josephine Palany Gentillon. He spent his youth in Firth, attending grade school and high school in the Firth School District.
On Sept. 1, 1939, Cyp married Marjorie Daw in St. Anthony, Idaho. Later in his life Cyp was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and shortly thereafter he and Marge were sealed together and to their family in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Darrell Burgoyne 55,

Darrell Burgoyne 55, of Bakersfield, California died Oct 19, 2014 from a fall at home.
Darrell was born Sept 20, 1959 to Donald and Virginia Burgoyne in Pocatello, Idaho. Darrell was raised in Blackfoot where he attended school. After high school he entered the U.S. Navy. After the Navy he moved to Bakersfield to work in the oil fields, which he has spent the last 30 years. He has one daughter, Shannon, who blessed him with five grandchildren who were the joy of his life.

Scott Austin McAllister, 24

November 17, 2014

Scott Austin McAllister, Oct. 20, 1990 – Nov. 9, 1914, age 24, beloved son of Bruce Craig McAllister and Reva Ellen Austin McAllister, died at home on Sunday due to his decade-long illness of drug addiction.
Scott was a gentle soul, kind and open to all. He had many friends and family whom he cared for deeply. His love was returned and he knew that he was loved. We only wish that he would have allowed us do more to help him overcome his addictions.

Melba Joy Lee, 79

Melba Joy Lee, 79, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 at her home.
She was born Aug. 16, 1935 to J. D. and Willie Mae McCasland, in Westbrook, Texas.
Her father was a farmer in Texas, but work was scarce so he relocated his family to Arizona when Melba was five years old. He worked on various farms in Chandler, Queen Creek, Gilbert and Casa Grande. In 1947 they moved to Coolidge where Melba became best friends with Marcene Lee. 
In 1952 Melba met Marcene’s very handsome older brother Garth. They were married July 24, 1954 in Lords Berg, New Mexico.

Richard “Chucky” Evan Huerta, 47, of Pocatello, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at Portneuf Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 14, 1967 in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Fermin Huerta and Ella Mae Bercier.  He spent his youth in Texas and returned to Idaho in 1988.  He attended school in Falfurrias, Texas.  
In 1998 he married Brianna Power; they were later divorced.  On April 14, 2012 he married Cindy Johnson in Pocatello.
Richard worked for the City of Pocatello in the sanitation department; he was known as “I. R. Garbage Man”.

Julie Ann Daley, 60

Julie Ann Daley, 60, of Blackfoot, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 27, 1954 in Shelley, Idaho, to Wayne Clifford and Verla Salverson.  She was attended school in Shelley and Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High in 1972.  Following high school she had various college experiences.
On June 10, 1975 she married Richard Eldon Daley in Blackfoot, Idaho.  They made their home in the Blackfoot area.

LaWanna Rowsell Winters Fifield,79, passed away Nov. 7, 2014 at Ashley Manor Memory Care in Pocatello, Idaho of Alzheimer's Diease.

Katherine Terry Ellis, 66

November 11, 2014

Katherine Terry Ellis, 66, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014 at Bingham Memorial Hospital due to sudden heart failure. She has been battling follicular lymphoma for the past five years. 
Kathy was born July 30, 1948 in Raymond, Alberta, Canada to Archie Terry and Muriel Katherine Webster. She spent her childhood in Lethbridge, graduating from L.C.I. high school. She then graduated from Ricks College and attended BYU. She went on to finish her education at Idaho State University to become a fifth grade teacher at Snake River Middle School.
