Barbra Grace Garrett, 53, of Blackfoot passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 at her home.
Barbra was born March 12, 1960 in Boise.Â Her parents are Bob S. Garrett and the late Catherine Ferrin Garrett.Â She grew up in Pocatello and Fort Hall, and spent her adult life in Blackfoot.Â She graduated from Highland High School in 1977.Â She then graduated from the Police Academy in 1981 and continued her education, getting her associate's degree from Eastern Idaho Technical College in computers. Â
In 1997 Barbra married Martin Bustamante in Elko, Nev. Â
Samuel W. Cornwall, 79, of Blackfoot passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at his home.
Samuel was born Jan. 2, 1935 in Inkom to Lavern Cornwall and Vera Geneva Siler.Â He was raised in Idaho, but lived in California, Texas, Michigan, Massachusetts and in Germany over the years.
He married Catherine Blenkle on May 14, 1954 in Pocatello and later had their marriage solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Samuel was in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, serving in Vietnam and Greenland.
Catherine passed away in 2005.
Carolyn Campbell was 56 when she passed away in her home in Blackfoot, Idaho on Saturday February 15th 2014. She was born November 13, 1957 in Pocatello, Idaho to David (Imera) and Larene (Tom). In a style that blossomed into a love for travel, Carolyn moved a lot in her youth, the majority of which was spent in Blackfoot, Idaho and Spokane, Washington. She was married in 1991 to Steven Reimers and had two children, Nicole and Tanner, who were most important in her life.
Darrell Dale Buttars, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 15, 1937 in Idaho Falls, the son of James LeRoy Buttars and Myrtle Velma Carter.
He graduated from Bonneville High School.
On Feb. 7, 1958, he married BonnieÂ Kummer and together they had two daughters.Â They parted but remained good friends throughout their lives.Â On Sept. 3, 1976, he married Melba Norwood Harris at Island Park and added six more children to the family.
Anita D. Peterson, age 89 of Rexburg, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg.
Ruth Seville Parker Hatch, 92, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at the Bingham Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 10, 1921 in Hibbard, Idaho.Â HerÂ parents are Lorenzo R. Parker and Alice Seville Long Parker.Â
She was aÂ devotedÂ member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions in the church, including Relief Society president, gospel doctrine teacher, Primary worker and Young Women's advisor. She was a shining example to her posterity.Â
Sister Tharsilla Bichler, a Franciscan Sister of the Eucharist, died Feb. 9, 2014 at the Desert House in Pocatello.Â The Franciscan Sisters were with her at the time of her death.Â She lived in Pocatello since 2005 after spending 24 years in the Holy Land where she taught mathematics at the Anglican School in Jerusalem for 17 and then tutored at the Holy Child Program in Beit Sahur.
Sister Tharsilla was known to the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist for her strength of character, indomitable spirit and simplicity of life.Â
Erma Jorgensen Whiting, 82, of Blackfoot passed away Feb. 10, 2014, at the Bingham Memorial Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Blackfoot.
Erma was born March 2, 1931, in Blackfoot, to John E. Jorgensen and Mary Ann McCracken.Â She was raised in the Groveland area and was a member of the 1949 Blackfoot High School graduating class. Â
On Nov. 9, 1949, Erma married Jesse J. Whiting in Idaho Falls.Â They had two children, Lucinda and LeeDel. Â
Florian Eugene Wernette, 95, passed away in Pocatello Sunday morning,Â Feb. 9, 2014
Florian was born May 5, 1918, on the family farm near Firth to Eugene Poe and Florence Martina Wernette.Â He attended St. Margaretâ€™s Catholic Boarding School in Blackfoot and later graduated from Firth High School in 1963.Â During World War II, he was employed for a short time at the Willamette Shipyard in Portland, Ore., but he soon returned to work on his parentsâ€™ farm and ranch.Â
Elden Duane Rabuck, of Blackfoot, stepped into Glory, Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014.Â He was born in Darien, Wisc. to Joseph Orville Rabuck and Lena Ester Clason on March 20, 1930.
After graduation with his class of 12 students at Darien High School, he served in the U.S. Army. During his service he was deployed to the Korean War as an ambulance driver/medic.
