Earl Cecil Brewster, 91

Earl Cecil Brewster, 91, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at his home.
He was born April 22, 1922 in Sacramento, Calif., the son of Cecil Joseph Brewster and Ida Clara Woods Brewster.
He graduated from Myrtle Creek, Ore. High School
Earl served his country during World War II in the Navy and was injured, but later re-enlisted in the Army Air Corp.
On May 8, 1945, he married Afton Millar in Denver, Colo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
They moved to Blackfoot in 1953.

Stephanie Thompson, 34

Stephanie Thompson, 34, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 15, 1979 in Blackfoot, Idaho, the daughter of Bernita E. Gallegos and Steven James Thompson.
She had lived her lifetime in the Blackfoot area and attended Snake River through her junior year and then graduated from Blackfoot Second Chance School.
Stephanie worked for Blackfoot Collection and the Morning News as a receptionist.
She loved her dogs and anything to do with computers.

Evelyn “AB” Ceryce Dixey Tendore-Surdam,79

In the early morning hours on March 15, 2014, the world lost a brilliant light when Evelyn “AB” Ceryce Dixey Tendore-Surdam was called home to Heaven after a 12-year battle with cancer.
Evelyn was born on Jan. 29, 1935 in Fort Hall, Idaho to Florence Pearl (Kate) Osborne-Butou and Edison Darrell Dixey, Sr.

Terry Grant Jensen, 62

Terry Grant Jensen, 62, of Blackfoot passed away peacefully Feb. 27, 2014 at home of cancer.
Terry was born in Blackfoot Dec. 21, 1951 to Grant D. and Virginia Jensen. He lived in Blackfoot his entire life except during his military service.
Terry graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1970 and served in the US Marine Corps from 1971 to 1973. He married Margaret "Peggy" Oliver on Nov. 28, 1971. He worked as an automotive machinist for a total of 34 years, working for Don's Auto Parts, Billmeyer's and Kirkham Auto Parts. He was well known for his excellent machine work.

Mary K. Hauser, 78

Mary K. Hauser, 78, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, from Parkinson’s disease. She died peacefully in her sleep, her husband at her side. She would have been 79 in April.
Encompass (of Pocatello) provided excellent hospice care, which includes Susan Barkus, Director; Dr. Travis Nielsen; RN Camie Christensen; Terri Bascom, Home Health Aid; and Miranda “Carmen “ Hedges, Social Worker.

Catherine Ceceilia Ward, 65

Catherine Ceceilia Ward, 65, of Shelley passed away March 8, 2014 at her home under hospice care.
She was born July 20, 1948 in Spokane, Wash. to Bobbie A. and Florence L. Cannon Hibbs.  She went to school in Spokane, Aberdeen and graduated from Highland High school in Pocatello in May of 1967.
She married Wilbur Lemar Griffin in August of 1967 and had four sons before divorcing in June of 1975.  She married Warren Keith Wells and later divorced.  On Jan. 26, 1977 she married the love of her life James Ward, together they had a son and daughter.

John Ybarguen, Jr., 71

John Ybarguen, Jr., 71, of Riverside, Idaho passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at his home as a result of a heart attack.
John was born Aug. 25, 1942 in Gooding, Idaho to John Ybarguen Sr. and Mary Ensunsa Ybarguen. He attended grade school and high school in Gooding. He then continued his education by studying drafting at Idaho State University.

Roxie Dolores Willey Chapman, 78

Roxie Dolores Willey Chapman, 78, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at her home.
She was born April 10, 1935 in American Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Elden Willey and Dolores Kidd Willey.
Roxie was a cheerleader while attending school in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen High School.
On Nov. 24, 1954 she married Lional “Dee” Chapman in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings and was a faithful visiting teacher.

Eileen Marie Gavin Abend, 88

Eileen Marie Gaven Abend, 88, of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at Vi Silverstone Care Center, Scottsdale, Ariz..
Eileen was born on October 11, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio to Thomas and Freda Aydon Gavin. Her father was a salesman, so in her early years the family moved often, eventually settling in New Jersey where she graduated from Teaneck High School.
She and her husband Hal met at a USO dance in New York City in 1944. They were marred in Rockledge, Fla., July 29, 1945, where he was stationed as a US Navy pilot.

Sara Jo Hammond, 36

Sara Jo Hammond, 36, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Sara was born in Blackfoot, Idaho on Sept. 8, 1977, and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1995. She worked in hotel management in Salt Lake City since moving from Idaho.
Sara was loved and cherished by many because of her beautiful soul and fighting spirit which she displayed so eloquently when she was recovering from being badly injured by a driver while walking in downtown Salt Lake many years ago.
