Deborah Lynn Taylor, 54, of Blackfoot passed away July 20, 2014 at her home under the care of Encompass Home Health & Hospice.
She was born Aug. 3, 1959 in Corpus Christi, Texas to John H. Burroughs and Vera M. King Burroughs. She was raised in Texas, Florida, California and Idaho. She was a Navy Brat and as a young girl she followed her dad in the Navy. She attended schools in California and Idaho. She married William Eddie Taylor on Aug. 19, 1977 in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Josh William Lentz, 31, of Blackfoot, died Saturday July 19, 2014 at his home in Pocatello, Idaho.
Josh was born Dec 21, 1982, in Spokane, Washington, to Robert and Sheila Lentz (Hendricks). Josh was raised in Blackfoot, Idaho by his mother, Sheila and Errol Hendricks.
He is survived by his wife, Lyndsi Lentz, and son Xander B Lentz, age 6; Sonja Christensen, daughter Tatjana A Lentz, age 12; son Taylor W Lentz, age 10; son Trey D Lentz, age 8; mother, Sheila (Errol) Hendricks; father, Robert (Jan) Lentz; sister Jaimy (Joseph) Swanson; and brother, Jason R Lentz.
Carol Nielson Sagers, 90, passed away peacefully at The Willows in Blackfoot, Idaho on July 12, 2014.Â She was attended by her daughters, Sandi, Jane and Lisa and her granddaughter, Abbe.
She was born at Manard, Idaho on the Camas Prairie October 21, 1923, the 3rd daughters of Elmer Walter Nielson and Jane Butler Nielson.
Norman Arthur Mecham, 76,Â of Goshen, Idaho, passed away peacefully the afternoon of July 18, 2014 at his home.
He was born Jan. 28, 1938 in Firth, Idaho to Evan Lyon Mecham and Evelyn Iris Schiess, the third of 12 children. The family lived in Firth and Victor early on. Â Settling in the Blackfoot area, Norman attended Blackfoot schools for all of his education, graduating from Blackfoot High School in 1956. While attending high school, he was the winner of the Idaho Cooperative Council Achievement Contest, winning a trip to the National Cooperative Convention held in North Carolina.
Verl Robinson Hatch, 87 of Rigby died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at his home in Rigby.Â Â
He was born Oct. 22, 1926 in Perry, Utah to Mark Holbrook Hatch and Hattie Leone Robinson Hatch.
Verl was raised in Teton Valley, Idaho.Â In the spring of 1945, he joined the US Army and received basic training at Fort Ord, California. He was about to be sent to Germany when World War II ended; he served in Alaska and was honorably discharged in 1946.Â
Raymond â€śDukeâ€ť Hammett, honored father, grandfather and friend to so many, passed peacefully in his own bed on 18 June 2014, just a few hours shy of his 93rd birthday.
He was surrounded by love from all. His youngest son, Douglas, was by his side while his eldest son, Lee and wife Debbie, as well as grandson, Tyler, were all electronically connected with him in the room.Â
Walker Samuel Gardner was silently born to his parents Samuel Joseph Gardner and Heidi Christine Jensen Gardner on July 19, 2014 at 1:46 a.m. Walker was returned to his Father in Heaven.
Walker is loved by his parents, Sam and Heidi, his sister, Kiera, and brother, Conrad, of Blackfoot. His grandparents are Samuel Dwight and Debra Ann Wray Gardner, Kenneth Bud and Evelyn Denise Jensen; his great-grandparents are Boyd Paulson and Patricia Gardner, Florence Valate Gardner, Richard Dee and Rosemary Sandau, Elden Bud and Janice Jensen and many uncles, aunts and numerous cousins.
Jean Marie Giest, 67, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
Jean was born April 27, 1947 in Yakima, Washington to Clyde Russell Kingrey and Ruby Jean Schonewill.Â She lived her entire lifetime since her youth in Blackfoot, attending grade school in Idaho Falls and graduating from Blackfoot High School.
On April 16 1971, Jean married Bruce Giest in Blackfoot, Idaho. Â
Jean was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, and was actively involved in the faith unit, church council and helping with the fair booth and blood drives.
Bryce O. Nelson, 85, of Burley, formerly of Blackfoot, passed away July 12, 2014 in Burley.
Bryce was born September 20, 1928 in Preston, Idaho to Lula Violet Olson Nelson and Laretts Walter Nelson.Â Bryce was the eighth child of ten.
He grew up in Thatcher, Idaho.Â Bryce also lived in Blackfoot and Seattle, Washington prior to joining the Navy. Â
Lorraine Anthony, our beloved and beautiful mother, passed away from lingering illnesses on July 13, 2014, at the age of 86. Â
She was born Mary Lorraine Nichols on September 6, 1927, in Rexburg, ID, to Jack Nichols and Felicia Ann (Jones) Nichols.Â She was very close to her parents and spoke of them throughout her life with love and fondness.Â Her maternal grandfather, T.R. Jones, was a prominent Blackfoot businessman whom she also spoke of fondly.
