Whitney Owen Johnson, 91, of Groveland, passed away June 6, 2011, at Bingham Memorial Hospital of old age.
He was born Nov. 6, 1919, in the farming community of Groveland.Â His parents, Michael Johnson Jr. and Elsie Mae Paskett Johnson, purchased an 80-acre dairy farm in Groveland where he would live and work for half his life.Â They also raised apples on the dairy farm.Â The Johnsons raised potatoes, beets, hay and snakes on a second farm at the end of Bond Road near the lavas.
Lucy Honena Diaz, 87, of Fort Hall passed away Monday, June 6, 2011, at her home.
Lucy was born on Sept. 7, 1923, in Fort Hall, the eldest daughter of Laura Tendoy and Samuel Honena, descended through her great-grandfather Chief Tendoy and her grandfather Toopompey of the Agaiâ€™dika or Lemhi band of the Shoshone tribe.Â Orphaned at the age of nine, she was raised by her grandmother, Nena Tendoy Tissidiment.
Darlene S. Evening, 51, of Fort Hall passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011, at her home following an extended illness.
Darlene was born Nov. 10, 1959, in Blackfoot, the daughter of Daniel Bill, Sr. and Inez Mink Evening. She was raised in the Fort Hall area and attended school in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School. Following high school she attended Idaho State University.
Darlene enjoyed bead work, quiltwork and going to the casino. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Owen Durfee, 81, of Pingree, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at his daughterâ€™s home in Twin Falls.
Funeral arrangements are pending under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home and will be announced.
Diane Evans, 66, of Blackfoot, passed away at her home, Sunday, June 5, 2011. from cancer.

Eleanor Rivers, 78, of Blackfoot, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011. at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling, Blackfoot. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.

A burial service will be heldÂ at Fielding Memorial cemetery on Friday, June 10, 2011, at noon for Carl J. "Buzz" Broadhead.
Carl was born in Payson, Utah, on Nov. 27, 1940, to Perris and LaVerne Beck Broadhead. He moved to Idaho in 1958 and lived in Rose.
In 1964, he took his family on a trip to California and loved it there so much that he found a job there and lived in California the rest of his life.
He ran a food business in San Bernardino at the National Orange Show Grounds for many years. He then retired in Apple Valley, Calif.
POCATELLO â€” Ethel Roberts Hernandez, 89, a former longtime Fort Hall resident and wife of the late Manuel Hernandez, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Gables Assisted Living in Pocatello of causes incident to age.Â
Ethel was born Dec. 23, 1921, the daughter of Samuel Leo Roberts and Elva Fanny Call Roberts in Chesterfield.Â
Ethel was raised on the family farm in Toponce where she spent many memorable days helping her mother with the household chores and her father in the fields tilling the soil with horsedrawn farming equipment.
Ida L. â€śKellyâ€ť Plevick, 73, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011, at
Bingham Memorial Extended Care in Blackfoot.Â
Kelly was born Oct. 3, 1937, in New Bedford, Mass., to John Kelly and Stella L. Souza.Â She moved to the Blackfoot area in 1990 and has lived here ever since.
Kelly is survived by her daughters, Laura (John) Boodry of Blackfoot, Tamra McHale of Pennsylvania and Debbie (Gabe) Young of California; son Jeffrey Lizee of Boise; brothers, Thomas and Johnny; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
William Frew, 81, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
He was born December 18, 1929 in Roberts, Idaho to Stanley W. and Lilly Jardine Frew.Â Bill was raised in the Roberts area where he received his education, graduating from Roberts High School in 1947. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country with honor.
On January 5, 1969 he married Nevada Hawley in Reno, Nevada.Â They made their home in Howe, Idaho where Bill ranched and farmed most of his working life.Â
