Olive VonNiese Stringham Munson Johannesen, 83,Â passed away at a local care facility on June 20, 2014 in Blackfoot, Idaho. Â
She was born October 14, 1930 in Bone, Idaho to Platte Lyman and Ruby Ann Jones Stringham.Â She graduated from Moreland High School in 1948.
On March 22, 1949 VonNiese married Donald Ross Munson.Â They had four children, Dennis Platte, Lelend Ross, Donna Jean, and Edwin Von.Â Don passed away in 1996. Â Â
Kenneth Finis Brown, 92, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at his home in Blackfoot, Idaho. Â
Much admired for his heroic work for veterans, Ken's life will be celebrated at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder, Nev.
Ken was preceded in death by three wives: Margaret Seagle, Lorraine Henderson, and Sonja Plesko; his parents Glen and Ruth Brown, and his son, Kenneth. Â
Emilia L. Underwood, 68, of Blackfoot, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Bingham Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 7, 1945 in San Benito, Texas, to Constancio M. Luis and Severiana Riveria Luis. The early years of her life were spent in Texas.Â She attended school through the second grade and was then needed at home to tend her siblings while her parents worked in the fields.Â At an early age her family moved to Blackfoot where her parents were able to find work. Â
On July 7, 1967 she married James C. Underwood in Blackfoot, Idaho.Â He preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2013.
Ronald LaVere John, 69, of Blackfoot, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 13, 2014.
He was born June 24, 1944 in Shelley, Idaho to Thomas LaVere and Zola Sorensen John.Â He was the second of four children.
On Feb. 1, 1980 he married Janeal Rae Bates.Â They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Ron was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather.
On Saturday, June 14, 2014, Cindy Johnson Haddon passed away after a long defiant battle with cancer.Â She passed away in peace at her home in Pocatello with her family and lifelong companion Rocky Haddon and son Scott Haddon by her side.Â
Quinton Gerard Blackburn, 92, of Springfield, Idaho passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Quinton was born July 22, 1921 in Springfield, Idaho to Dewey Earl Blackburn and Valine Ellen Gutting.Â He spent his lifetime in Springfield, other than the time he spent in the military.Â
Mabel Irene Stroh, 98, of Pingree, Idaho passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at Fairwinds Sandcreek Retirement Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Mabel was born Jan. 14, 1916 in Richfield, Idaho to Lester Carl Walker and Mabel Laura Skinner.Â She attended elementary school in Aberdeen and graduated from Twin Falls High School.Â She then attended Albion State Normal School and later graduated from Idaho State University.
On June 4, 1937 Mabel married Clarence Stroh in Boise, Idaho.Â They had three children, Robert Walker, Richard Clarence, and Patricia Irene.
Delta Pettingill, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 12, 2014. She was under the care of One Source Hospice.
Delta was born on Oct. 11, 1937, in Burton, Idaho, to Glen and Murel Simmons. She grew up in the Lorenzo area and attended Rigby High School, graduating in 1955.
James â€śJimâ€ť Gust Morris, 77, of Rexburg, died June 12, 2014, at Madison Memorial Hospital of natural causes.Â
He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on Sept. 11, 1936 to the union of Gust K. Morris and Constance Lagos Morris.
Jim was a fun-loving child known for his pranks and great love of the outdoors. Jim graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1955. It was there that he met his wife of 57 years, Lela Gardner Morris. Jim and Lela were married on Feb. 10, 1956. They were blessed with three beautiful children.
Billy Gene Willingham, 61, passed away in his home on June 2, 2014, from a brain tumor.
Bill was born on April 13, 1953 to Bertha Lee Willingham in Columbia County, Ga. He was raised by his mother and grandparents, Welbur and Rose Willingham.
Bill loved to run track and play handball and chess. His favorite football team was the Oakland Raiders. Bill attended elementary and junior high school in Columbia County. After his grandparents died, he moved to Queens, New York with his mother and father, Charles Powell. He attended and graduated from Bayside High in Bayside, New York in 1971.
