Jeanne Kay Strickland, 63, of Moreland, passed away Thursday July 4, 2013 after a long brave battle with ovarian cancer.
Jeanne was born on Feb. 10, 1950 in Marietta, Ohio to William H and She was a graduate of Sheridan High School in Thornville, Ohio. She continued her education at Ricks College in Rexburg.
Jeanne was married to Thomas Keith Strickland on June 26, 1970 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.Â Together they had five children:
Zola John, 93, of Blackfoot passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 4, 2013.Â Â
She was born Jan. 16, 1920 in Blackfoot to Marion and Lucille Harper Sorensen.Â She was the second of nine children.Â
She married Thomas LaVere John on June 30, 1939. Â They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union five children were born âÂ Thomas L. John (Bonnie) , Ronald John, Â Linda Steffler, David John (Keri) and Karolyn Taberna (John).Â LaVere and Zola were married for 74 years.Â They lived most of their married life in the Blackfoot area.
Idaho Falls â Amy Marlette, 55, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, after a courageous six-year battle with breast cancer.
Sylvester âArodâ Seaman, 68, passed away June 30, 2013 in Pocatello.Â
He was born Oct. 19, 1944 to Gordon Seaman and Mamie Holbrook Seaman in Fort Hall.Â He was raised by his Aunt Ella Penn.Â
He graduated from Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Okla. and was the captain of the Riverside Indian School football team his Senior Year.Â After high school he joined the United States Army and went to Vietnam.Â
Wesley J. High, 59 of Firth passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Â Wes fought a hard battle against esophageal cancer but with recent complications of pneumonia, he slipped away peacefully while surrounded by his family.
Wes was born on April 21, 1954, in Idaho Falls, to Willis and Darlene (Leonard) High. Â Wes and his two brothers and two sisters grew up in Basalt. Â Â
Cerise âAnnâ Prudhomme, 43, daughter of Gayle and the late James Bang of Blackfoot returned home in her Heavenly Father's arms onÂ June 30, 2013 at her home with her family by her side.Â What a glorious reunion.
She was the first child born to Gayle Cowley Prudhomme and William Thomas Prudhomme Jr.Â Cerise was born on May 27, 1970 in Blackfoot.Â She started this journey with many challenges ahead of her.Â She gladly faced those with a smile and lots of love.
Shortly after she was born, her mom married Randy Wareing.Â Soon a sister, Trina, and a brother, Theron, joined the family.
Mary Leah Parris, 86, of Moreland passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at her home with her family by her side.
Leah was born May 5, 1927 in Shelley to Olen V. Bateman and Mary E. Hebertson.Â She lived her entire life in Southeast Idaho and most of her adult life in Moreland.
Â On Aug. 28, 1950, Leah married DeVear F. Parris.Â He preceded her in death in 1976.
Â She worked for 27 years for Nonpariel.Â In her free time she enjoyed gardening, decorating cakes, watching NASCAR and traveling.
Â Leah was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
John Lyle Smith, 93, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at his home in Moreland, Idaho.
John was born April 4, 1920 in Smithfield, Utah, to Thomas and Cora Myrtle Tall Smith.Â He was raised in the Moody, Idaho area and attended school in Sugar Salem School District, graduating in 1938.
On April 8, 1942 he married Jean Tucker in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.Â She preceded him in death on September 30, 2010.
John was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in a Bishopric and various other callings.
Robert Allen 'Bud' Norwood of Pocatello, died on Wednesday evening,
June 19th, 2013, at his home. He was born on February 4, 1940 in Moreland, Idaho, to Ronald Glen Norwood and Elva Effey Dawson Norwood. He grew up in Riverside, Idaho where he attended Snake River schools and
lettered in wrestling, football and track. He graduated in from Snake River High School in 1959. Bud married Joyce Chaffin on February 8,1958. They were later divorced. Bud married Iris Jean âJeanneâ Harman in
Louis (Luis) Uriona, 85, of Blackfoot, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at The Coventry in Cottonwood Heights, Utah from causes incident to age.
He was born June 11, 1928 in Fordsen, Mich. to Jose and Louisa Uriona.
He attended school in Viscaya, Spain for two years.Â He also attended schools in Pocatello, Wapello Grade School and graduated from Blackfoot High School.
In 1948, he married Estella J. Cooper at Kimball, Idaho.Â They lived in Wapello and raised their five children.
