Stewart L. Mettz, 69, of Blackfoot, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at his home. Funeral arrangements are pending under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home and will be announced.
Norma Byington, 81, Long time Blackfoot resident, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at The Gables in Idaho Falls from natural causes. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Hawker Funeral Home.
Sandra Rossi, 66 year old Pingree resident, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at her home following an illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Hawker Funeral Home.
L. John Hennefer, 80 year old Riverside resident, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at a Pocatello hospital following an illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Hawker Funeral Home.
Rual Fullmer Campbell, 83, of Idaho Falls passed away peacefully Friday, April 15, 2011, in Shelley. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.
He was born Nov. 17, 1927, in Tetonia to Anna Almedia Fullmer Campbell and Bryant Garr Campbell. He was the sixth of 11 children. His family moved from Providence, Utah, in 1900 to homestead the Tetonia dry farm.
He attended schools at Tetonia Elementary, Driggs Junior High and Driggs High. Rual loved sports, especially playing baseball. He began working at a very young age and was a hard worker and a devoted family man.
Wilford Ballard Sr. (aka Wolfie), 79, of Pocatello, died at a local hospital following an illness.¬†
He was born March 22, 1932 in Fort Hall to Julius and Katie Hill Ballard.¬†
He married Leota Amy Ponzo in Fort Hall.¬†He worked as an auto mechanic with Johnson‚Äôs Auto.¬†He then went to Fort Worth, Texas, where he took training to become a certified welder in 1959-60.¬†
Upon returning to Idaho he worked for the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes as a certified welder working in the Soil and Moisture Department until he retired.¬†
Tobie Kade Robinson, 23, of Blackfoot, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born March 1, 1988, in Pocatello to Ronald Kay and Rhonda Kim Murray Robinson.¬†Tobie was the third of four boys.¬†He lived in Pocatello and Boise until the age of six when his family moved to Blackfoot.
Gary M. Gay, 67, of Blackfoot, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†Gary was born May 7, 1943, in Pocatello to Walter Scott and Blanche Viola Davis Gay.¬† He has lived his entire life in Southeast Idaho, primarily in Blackfoot, graduating from Snake River High School in 1961.¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†On June 15, 1962, he married his one and only love, Joan M. Rossi, in Pingree.¬† Gary was a member of St.
Roger Patterson, 59, of Sugar Grove, Ill., passed away April 7, 2011 in Geneva, Ill. He was born Feb. 6, 1952, in Borger, Texas, to TJ and Virginia Patterson.
He was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing in the hand bell choir; he was a member of their Evangilism and Membership committee; and was active on a church committee to start a community garden.
Roger retired from United Airlines and was currently working at Hesed House, a homeless shelter in Aurora, Ill.
Doris Andersen Smith, 97 a lifelong resident of Blackfoot, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 9, 2011.
Doris was born on Feb. 18, 1914, in Blackfoot.¬†Her parents were James Henry Andersen and LeVerna Call Andersen.¬†She attended Blackfoot High School and graduated in 1932.¬†She attended college in Pocatello for two years and received her teaching certificate.¬†She taught school in Gorveland for two years.¬†She married Thomas B. Smith In Pocatello on June 21, 1936.
