Dila Renee Gibbs Peterson, 86, a former Blackfoot resident,Â passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 in Lynnwood, Wash., after a long battle with cancer.
Dila was born on Sept. 24, 1927 in American Falls, Idaho.Â She grew up in Southern Idaho.Â She attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she learned bookkeeping and shorthand.Â These skills served her throughout her life in various secretarial and bookkeeping positions.Â
Alene Christiansen Loisate, 79, passed away on May 25, 2014 from a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 20, 1935 in Downey, Idaho to Elvin Chirstiansen and Ione Jensen.Â
Alene was raised in Downey, Idaho and graduated from Downey High School in 1953. She met and married John Pete Loisate on June 9, 1957 in Downey, Idaho. They have resided in Blackfoot since 1964.Â
Edmund LeRoy Pugmire, 76, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at his home.
Edmund was born April 25, 1938 in Pocatello, Idaho to Howard Edmund Pugmire and Matilda Mead.Â He lived in and received his education in Pocatello.
On March 19, 1961 Edmund marriedÂ Delores Gregan in Nevada.
He served his country in the United States Air Force, spending time in Japan during the Korean Conflict.
On May 20, 2014 God received yet another angel.Â
â€¨Dwyla â€śDeeâ€ť Fern Preslar, 87, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and loved ones.Â
Dee was born on November 5, 1926 in Richfield, Idaho to Frank Alvah Turner and Grace Beatrice Thompson. Â
In 1979 Dee married Sherman Preslar in Elko, Nevada.
Mark Novas Hopkins passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Mark was born July 18, 1936, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Russell G. Hopkins and Mable A. Novas. He attended grade school in the Blackfoot area, and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1955. After graduation he enlisted in the Air Force.
Robert Rory Hansen, 24, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.
Robert was born on Oct. 16, 1989, in Blackfoot, Idaho.Â He was the youngest of three children of Garth Kay Hansen and Leslie Ann Waters Hansen.
Robert attended Blackfoot High School where he played football with friends and won state football his senior year in 2008. After graduating high school Robert attended ISU.
Betty M. Sailer, 82, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, surrounded by her family. Betty was born April 26, 1932 to Iverson and Lula Crum in Bluffs, Ill.Â
After graduation from high school she started work as a secretary.Â Later when she married, she became a homemaker and mother.Â As a wife in a military family, she moved around, living in various parts of the U.S.Â She spent her life raising her children and later worked part-time in various jobs.Â
John LaMar Call, 81, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at his home.
He was born Dec. 29, 1932 in Chesterfield, Idaho the son of John Balfour and Una Bowman Call.
John grew up in Chesterfield, Blackfoot and Idaho Falls, graduating from North Gem High School in 1952.
He served in the United States Army in Germany from 1954-1955.Â He was honorably discharged in June 1962.
He married Barbara Jean Ellis on July 31, 1959 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.Â They were later divorced.Â On Oct. 25, 1993 he married Clara Birchell in Blackfoot, Idaho.
LaRue Boyack passed away peacefully on May 18, 2014, of natural causes and in the comfort of her loving and caring family and members of the Bingham Memorial Hospital.Â
LaRue was born Feb. 17, 1935, in Arco, Idaho, the daughter of Eva and Rufus Searle.Â Â She united in marriage to Glen (Roy) Boyack on June 20, 1953.Â
In 1997, LaRue retired from the State of Idaho from a long career as a cook.
LaRue thoroughly loved watching sports, especially when her children and grandchildren were playing.Â She also loved camping with her family.Â
Frank John Bartausky, 61, lost his fight on Friday, May 16, 2014 in Murray, Utah due to complications associated with a heart and kidney transplant.
Frank was born on Jan. 3, 1953, at Eaton Maternity Center in Shelley, Idaho.Â He was the third of eight children born to Ed and Rita Bartausky.Â He was the biggest baby of all, tipping the scales at 9 lb. 14 oz.,Â a Gentle Giant.
