Larry Dee Sanders, 59, passed away on June 8, 2014, at home with his family by his side, from metastatic melanoma. He will be remembered by many as a very caring, generous soul. He was always the first one to offer to help anyone in need.
The greatest love story ever felt by one family ended April 22, 2014 when Harold Van Sickle was reunited with his beautiful wife Florien.
Harold was born on June 21, 1930 in Jefferson, Iowa, to Ira Van Sickle and Myrtle Schilmann Van Sickle.
Harold joined the Navy at the age of 20.Â He served both foreign and domestic.Â This honorable sailor stole the heart of Florien Misch and made her his bride June 14, 1952.Â
Tom R. Hansen, 74, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He was born in Blackfoot, Idaho June 12, 1939 to William and Rose Hansen.
He grew up in the Southeast Idaho area and graduated from Blackfoot High in 1957. He was drafted into the Army in December 1961, and was stationed in Fort Collins, Colo. He was discharged, with honors, in March 1963.
He met the love of his life, Marilyn Wallin (Gelles), and married her on Aug. 2, 1973; they were later sealed for time and eternity in the LDS Temple on Aug. 2, 1980.
Brent B. Hawkes, 72, a Salt Lake City resident formerly of Blackfoot, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at his home from natural causes.
He was born April 8, 1942, Blackfoot, Idaho, the son of Francis Sidney and Genevieve Pearl Goodwin Hawkes.
He grew up in Blackfoot where he graduated from Blackfoot High School. Brent started his education at BYU and then he continued his extensive education career in Philadelphia and graduated with his doctorate in Education from Penn State.
LeRoy Elsdon Howard Jr., 89, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at The Willowâ€™s.
Elsdon was born March 5, 1925 in Blackfoot, Idaho to LeRoy Elsdon Howard and Hannah Elizabeth Gummersall.Â He attended school in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School. Â
He served in World War II in the United States Army and served as a cook on a ship called USS Granmede in various locations.Â After the Navy, he attended BYU and graduated in chemistry.
Dallas Hone, 57, of Blackfoot, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2014 surrounded by loved ones, in Salt Lake City, Utah.Â Dallas was born August 18, 1956 in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Lynn and Eva Frasure Hone.Â He graduated from Blackfoot High School and continued his education at ISU, receiving an Associate Degree in Diesel Mechanics.Â As a young man, he married Noi Kofoed and had two sons, Ladd and Shawn.Â Eventually, he made his way to Salt Lake City and worked for Warner Trucks, National Lease and various companies.Â Later on, he met Donna, the love of his life and spent 20 wonderful years with
Edward â€śTedâ€ť Charles Cook, 92, of Blackfoot, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 3, 2014.
Ted was born March 12, 1922 in Paris, Idaho to Eldon W. Cook and Florence Shirley Cook. During his early life, he lived in Pegram, Idaho; Paris, Idaho; Provo, Utah; and Snowflake, Ariz. Â

Earl Eugene Farmer, a great man, departed this world on May 31, 2014. He was attended to in his final moments by his wife Evelyn and grandson, Ethanâ€”both of whom took the sudden medical emergency with the same strength and calm he had always shown in his own life.Â
Dianna Gayle Olsen Justesen, 69, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at her home after a long battle with cancer.
Dianna was born July 30, 1944 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Darwin Olson and Lela Rodgers.Â She was raised in the Blackfoot area, attending Blackfoot schools.
She worked at Basic American Foods for 14 years. Â
She was a strong and independent woman who maintained her own home and raised sheep for many years.Â Her yard and gardens were always pristine and she took much deserved pride in both.
Gary Dean Ward, 74, of Fort Hall, Idaho passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his home.
Gary was born Feb. 22, 1940 in Marysville, Idaho to James Wood Ward and Glennavon Wirick.Â Gary was the fourth child of 14, five of his siblings dying at or shortly after birth.Â He was raised in the Riverside area and attended Snake River schools.
He worked as a mechanic on farm equipment, cars and trucks.Â He was also a logger, working in many areas, including Island Park, making post, poles and firewood.Â In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
