June Gines Jones, beloved mother, grandma, great-grandma, and sister passed away January 24, 2014 in Blackfoot, Idaho.
June was born June 6, 1920 in Woodland, Utah to Clifton Gines and Francis Ellen Chamberlain.Â She was the second child in a family of seven.
Stefanie Ann Whiting Bitton passed away at home early in the hours of Jan. 19, 2014.
Stefanie was born May 30, 1962 in Boise to Robert and Louise Whiting. She was one of the â€śmiddle maidâ€ť children right in between her older sister Laurie and her younger sisters Tanya and Shiara.
Being raised in Idaho, being a tomboy came naturally and she was a daddyâ€™s girl through and through. As soon as she could walk, she fished and camped with her numerous cousins and followed her dad around his construction sites.
Richard B. Welch, 84, of Blackfoot lost his battle with cancer and passed away at his home on Jan. 18, 2014.
Richard grew up in Bancroft on the family farm.Â He attended schools in the Bancroft area and was valedictorian of his graduating class, then he went on to serve four years in the U.S. Navy Air Force and served his country in Korea and Japan.
He was married to Janis Genta until her passing in 1989.Â Three children were born from this marriage, Richard D., Brenda Jayne and Carl.
Adrian Vernon Grimaud, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Jan. 18, 2014, after a brief but hard-fought battle with cancer.
Â He was born on March 3, 1926, in Pocatello to Adrian Pierre Grimaud and Emma Elodia Higby Grimaud.Â He attended schools in Pingree and graduated from Thomas High School.Â He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines. He continued his education at the University of Idaho and Idaho State University where he received a bachelorâ€™s degree in Physics and Math.
Laura Jean Marriott Cramer, 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Life Care Center in Idaho Falls.
Laura was born June 27, 1936, in Roberts to Lynn Fay and Ruth Kinghorn Marriott.Â She attended schools in Roberts and graduated from Roberts High School.Â
She married Harold â€śHalâ€ť Eldon Cramer Oct. 27, 1954, in Lewisville.Â Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.Â She lived in Roberts, Riverside, Paul and Idaho Falls throughout her life.
St. George, Utah - James M. Burningham, 97, of St, George, Utah, and formerly of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away Jan. 9, 2014 in St. George, Utah.
He was born Aug. 25, 1916 to James Valentine and Annie Muir Burningham. He married Ida Johnson on July 10, 1939. She passed away on Jan. 4, 2006.
In his younger years, he farmed. He then worked for Bauer Equipment for many years. He also worked in road construction as a heavy equipment operator.
LaRue Fackrell Cox. July 25, 1924-Jan. 14, 2014
LaRue F. Cox passed away quietly at home Jan. 14, 2014.
LaRue was born July 25, 1924 in the home of her parents at Thomas. LaRue was the third of six children born to Lewis N. Fackrell and Amanda M. Dance Fackrell. She joined sister Thelda and brother Quinten. Eventually brothers Ivan and Arlis and sister Lois completed the family.Â
Carolyn Taylor Tripp, 64, of Inkom passed away peacefully following a brief yet aggressive illness at a local hospital Jan. 13, 2014 surrounded by her family.
Carolyn was born in Butte, Mont., the daughter of John Thomas and Delilah (Weeks) Taylor. When she was two, her family moved to Moreland and when she was four, they moved to Blackfoot, where she attended public schools, graduating from Blackfoot High School in 1967.
Carolyn married John Tripp on May 18, 1969. They moved their young family to Inkom in 1976 and were later divorced on May 18, 2003.
Virginia Dell Patterson, 84, of Blackfoot, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 at the Gables Assisted Living Center.
She was born in Wheeler County, Texas on Aug. 26, 1929 to Richard Albert Watts and Anna Mae Hart.
Virginia married TJ Patterson June 20, 1947, and they had two children, Barbara and Roger. The family moved from Texas to Blackfoot in 1958. T.J. preceded her in death on May 25, 2002.
Longtime Blackfoot residentVon E. Thurman, 84, passed away peacefully at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center on Jan. 11, 2014, due to natural causes.
Von was born on Sept. 29, 1929, at Thomas to Elmer and Elva Thurman. Von attended school in Afton, Wyo. where he lived with his grandfather. He later attended Blackfoot High School where he lettered in track and boxing and graduated in 1947. He also attended barber college in Boise.
