Maria Esperanza Vera, 69, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at her home with her family by her side.
Maria was born March 18, 1945 to Marcos Santillan Munoz and Margarita Bautista Rodriguez in El Salitre, Villanueva, Zacatecas, Mexico.
On July 4, 1964 Maria married Jose Vera in Tayahua, Mexico.
Maria and Jose moved to Moreland in 1982 and has lived here since.
Sarah â€śNadineâ€ť High, 82, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born February 19, 1932 in Menan, Idaho the daughter of Hans Emanuel Olaveson and Martha Denning Olaveson.
On September 21, 1947 she married Leo F. High in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They just celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.Â
Nadine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Â She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She retired from JcPenney after 20 years.
Lola Dawn Hernandez, 83, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 at Bingham Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born May 14, 1931 in Blackfoot, Idaho, the daughter of Malin Robinson and Ardell Olmstead Robinson.
Lola Dawn gradated from Blackfoot High School in May of 1949 and has enjoyed helping organize the class reunions over the years.
Diane Nay, 51
Richfield, Utah â€” Our loving mother and grandmother, Vaughna Diane Nay, 51, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 15, 2014 in Richfield.
She was born June 28, 1963 in the Hemet Valley, California, to Jerry Jay and Sarah Arlene Martin Nay.
Diane was always upbeat and happy. Everyone loved her laugh and smile. Her family was most important to her, especially her wonderful grandchildren. She touched many peoples' lives with her kindness and big heart. She was the kind of person you could never leave without giving her a hug and a kiss.
William â€śBillâ€ť D Curtis, 78, of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2014 at his home.
Bill was born June 18, 1936 in Blackfoot, Idaho, the son of James and Lela Leona Burell Curtis.
He attended grade school in Pingree and graduated from Snake River High School in 1955.
Bill married NeAnne Hales Sept. 27, 1958 in Ely, Nevada, and they wereÂ laterÂ sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
He joined the National Guard in December 1955 and served for 40 years.Â Bill was trained as a radio repairman and worked as mechanic for the National Guard.
Robert Michael Turner, 44, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at his parents' home in Blackfoot.
He was born Aug. 4, 1970 in Blackfoot, Idaho, the son of Charles Michael Turner and Della Marie Goss Turner.
He attended Blackfoot and Snake River schools.
On Sept. 28, 2012, he married Laura Lynn Branscum in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Robert was a member of the Pocatello Model Railroading Club.Â He worked for the veterans' home in Pocatello and Bingham Extended Care Facility.
He enjoyed shooting skeet, hunting, fishing, video games and collecting John Deere memorabilia.
Boyd Irvin Stallings, 87, of Blackfoot, passed away Sept. 20, at the Emerald House in Blackfoot, Idaho.
He was born March 5, 1927, in Lewisville, Idaho, the son of Irvin S. and Iva Lords Stallings. He attended schools in Lewisville and graduated from Midway High School in 1945. He was a World War II veteran and served in the United States Navy in San Diego, California.
Richard Lee Scherbel, 52, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away doing the thing he loved most, fishing in the Blackfoot Reservoir by the family cabin on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014.Â
His parents are Hazel Mae Cohen Heth (deceased) and Richard O. and Mary Joyce Scherbel.Â He was born Dec. 21, 1961 in Pocatello, Idaho.
Richard graduated from Snake River High School.Â While there a group of his friends and he formed a band.Â He wrote a lot of the lyrics for many of the songs. Â
He served a mission in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.Â When he returned, he moved to Austin, Texas where he worked for awhile.
Mary Gerrard Fitch, 99 of Chubbuck, Idaho and formerlyÂ of Dell, Montana, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 at the Ridgewind Assisted Living in Chubbuck.
She was born March 26, 1915 in Robin, Idaho, the daughter of Robert Powell Lawrence and Christina Gerrard Lawrence.
She grew up and received her education in Robin, Idaho.
In 1935 she married Albert Harold â€śAbâ€ť Fitch.Â They spent their early married life in Southeastern Idaho and then moved to Dell, Montana in 1967 where they resided for many years.
Nemesio Roy â€śLloydâ€ť Chavez, 81, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014 at Bingham Memorial Hospital.Â
Lloyd was born April 4, 1933 in Gunnison, Colorado, to Alonzo Chavez and Irene Fernandez.Â He considered himself a lifelong resident of Blackfoot, Idaho.Â He traveled to various places for construction, but always returned to Idaho.
On April 26, 1950 Lloyd married Martha May Donaldson in Idaho Falls, Idaho.Â They were later divorced.
He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Lloyd served in the National Guard as an engineer.
