Gary Russell BolanderÂ of Firth, passed away at the EIRMC on November 3, 2013.
He was born December 22, 1923 to George and NoraÂ Bolander,Â the fifth of eight children. He attended schoolsÂ in Shelley, Blackfoot and Firth. After graduation he married Lois Dye on May 24, 1943 in the Salt LakeÂ LDS Temple.
Chris Blake truly was larger than life. Any person that knew him can attest to that. Every aspect of his life was performed at full throttle. This began with the unconditional love he had for his family. Everything he did in life stemmed from his devotion to loved ones. He married the love of his life, Amanda Blake, in 1984 and began an incredible 29 year journey. Chris is also survived by his four children â€“ Heidi, Matt, Joe, and Miranda.
Nelda Faye Clements Swearingen, 85, of Basalt, passed away peacefully on Oct. 30, 2013, at The Gables of Ammon. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Jim Swearingen, daughter Glenda Swearingen, and son Rodney Swearingen.
Â Nelda was born Jan. 16, 1928, in Idaho Falls to Elias G. Clements and Harriet A. Albright Clements.Â She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls.
On Aug. 3, 1944, she married Jim Cecil Swearingen at Idaho Falls.Â Nelda and Jim made their home in Basalt.
Kristen Marie Menta of Blackfoot passed away on Oct. 27, 2013 of injuries sustained from a vehicle accident. She was born on March 17, 1989, daughter of Tom Menta and Helene Siow of Fort Hall.
Kristen lived most of her life in Fort Hall. She attended Tyhee Elementary, Hawthorne Jr. High and Highland High School. She then transferred to Sho-Ban High School, graduating in 2007.
Robert E. Lee Baker was born on July 28, 1937 in Ranson, Ill., a son of Robert and Dorothy Baker. He passed away Oct. 25, 2013.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1962. After serving in the Navy he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 28 years.
He married Alva Anderon on Dec. 17, 1971. She brought four children into the marriage, all of whom he adopted. They include Vicki (Jesse) Torres, Cindy (Raymond) Nelson, Scott (Jami) Baker and Mark Baker. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Boyd James Leavitt, 80, peacefully passed away at his home in Blackfoot in the company of his loving family, on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at 12:30 p.m.
Boyd was born in Moreland on April 24, 1933 to James and Wanda Leavitt. Although he spent most of his life in and around Blackfoot, he spent two years in California, where his dad was stationed in the Navy, just before his sister Sharon was born.
He attended Blackfoot High School and at the age of 19 he married the love of his life Marjorie Swainston on Dec. 17, 1952.
OliveÂ Barclay, age 101, quietly slipped home on Oct. 23, 2013, in American Fork. Utah.Â Her five surviving children were with their beautiful mother during her final hours.Â
Olive Lorentzen Christensen Barclay was born on Oct. 5, 1912, in Blackfoot, a daughter of Nephi and Laura Lorentzen Christensen.Â She was the second of 10 children.Â She was a graduate of Blackfoot HighÂ School and attended the Southern Branch in Pocatello where she earnedÂ a degree to teach grade school.
Beth Stokes, 77, of Blackfoot passed awayÂ Monday, Oct. 21, 2013. at her daughterâ€™s home in Firth.
She was born Dec. 28, 1935 in Chinook, Mont., the daughter of Eldridge Andrew Tuck and Rosella Archibald Tuck.
Beth grew up in Chinook, Mont. until the age of six, then moved to Wilson, Utah where she received her education.Â
Shamae Gneiting Lyon, 30, of Pocatello, beloved mother, wife, daughter and sister, returned to the loving arms of her heavenly Father on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013.
She was born June 11, 1983 in Blackfoot, the daughter of Daniel D. Gneiting and Kathy Carlile Gneiting. She married Loren Lyon on Nov. 23, 2002, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and together were raising three young daughters.
Ruth Lucille Kinney Nelson King, 74, of Blackfoot passed away at her sister, Karen Cornelisonâ€™s home in Rexburg on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Â She was born March 31, 1939 in Pocatello, to Gerald Chester and Bessie Jones Kinney.Â She was raised and attended school in Pocatello for most of her early years, then moved to Pingree in 1957 where she graduated from Snake River High School in 1958.
