Richard Lee Scherbel, 52

Richard Lee Scherbel, 52, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away doing the thing he loved most, fishing in the Blackfoot Reservoir by the family cabin on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014. 
His parents are Hazel Mae Cohen Heth (deceased) and Richard O. and Mary Joyce Scherbel. He was born Dec. 21, 1961 in Pocatello, Idaho.
Richard graduated from Snake River High School. While there a group of his friends and he formed a band. He wrote a lot of the lyrics for many of the songs.  
He served a mission in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. When he returned, he moved to Austin, Texas where he worked for awhile.

Mary Gerrard Fitch, 99

Mary Gerrard Fitch, 99 of Chubbuck, Idaho and formerly of Dell, Montana, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 at the Ridgewind Assisted Living in Chubbuck.
She was born March 26, 1915 in Robin, Idaho, the daughter of Robert Powell Lawrence and Christina Gerrard Lawrence.
She grew up and received her education in Robin, Idaho.
In 1935 she married Albert Harold “Ab” Fitch. They spent their early married life in Southeastern Idaho and then moved to Dell, Montana in 1967 where they resided for many years.

Nemesio Roy “Lloyd” Chavez, 81

Nemesio Roy “Lloyd” Chavez, 81, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014 at Bingham Memorial Hospital. 
Lloyd was born April 4, 1933 in Gunnison, Colorado, to Alonzo Chavez and Irene Fernandez. He considered himself a lifelong resident of Blackfoot, Idaho. He traveled to various places for construction, but always returned to Idaho.
On April 26, 1950 Lloyd married Martha May Donaldson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were later divorced.
He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Lloyd served in the National Guard as an engineer.

Francisca R. Rodriguez, 69

September 12, 2014

Francisca R. Rodriguez, 69, of Montpelier and formerly of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away  Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Montpelier, Idaho.

She was born November 16, 1944 in Del Rio, Texas.  

She is survived by her children, Lucille (Jim) Sanders, Alice (Laurencio) Almendarez, Daniel (Jenny) Robles, Adrian (Sylvia) Morado, Robert Luna; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cristina Luna.

Delbert Farmer, Shoshone-Bannock tribal leader and lifetime resident of the Fort Hall Indian Reservation, passed away Sept. 7, 2014 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho.
Delbert was born in Fort Hall, Idaho on May 24, 1942 to Davis and Irene Farmer.

Dewi David Washakie, 42

Dewi David Washakie, 42, passed away at home surrounded by his family, Friday, Sept. 5, 2014.
He was born June 23, 1972 in Pocatello, Idaho to Romer Dewi Washakie and Mary Dixey Washakie.  Dewi attended I.T. Stoddard Elementary, Blackfoot Junior High, Fort Washakie Middle School and Blackfoot High School.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, helping family with the family farm, and watching movies; his favorite movie was the Lord of the Ring series.
He participated in the traditional sun dance ceremony in Wyoming and Idaho.

Richard Marlin Keele, 70

Richard Marlin Keele, 70, passed away on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 at his home in Hazelton, Idaho. 
He was born Nov. 21, 1943 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Elwood and Oathea Whiting Keele. He attended Blackfoot schools growing up.
Richard worked as a ranch manager in Bruneau, Idaho; a truck driver for Western Alfalfa and later retired from J&W Trucking.
He enjoyed many activities. Some of those activities were visits with family and friends, and his occasional trips to the casino. Richard was a big enthusiast of the outdoors, and a huge Seattle Seahawks fan.

May I. Mitchell, 86

May I. Mitchell, 86, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 at The Willows Assisted Living in Blackfoot.
May was born on October 11, 1927 in Wellington, Colorado to LeeRoy Wells and Bonnie Iris O’Brien.  She lived in Colorado until all three of her boy’s were born, then they lived a few different places, settling back in Colorado in 1961.  She moved to Blackfoot about 23 years ago to be close to her family.  
On July 4, 1948 May married Alfred Ewing Mitchell in Loveland, Colorado.  He preceded her in death onDecember 8, 2009.  

Aaron Michael Hunt, 42

Aaron Michael Hunt, 42, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at his home.
Aaron was born January 2, 1972 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Richard Michael Marshall and Cathleen Gay (Cushman) Hunt.  He was raised in Blackfoot and Idaho Falls, but finished high school in Reno, Nevada.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Aaron worked as a welder and cook.  In his free time he enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking with his mother, spending time with friends and loved animals.  He was a devoted son.

Bo Jody Taylor, 19
It is with great sorrow that the family of Bo Jody Taylor, 19, of Blackfoot, Idaho announces his passing on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 in Montpelier, Idaho from injuries sustained in an accident while doing what he enjoyed and loved.
Bo was born Jan. 12, 1995 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of Jody Taylor and April Collins.
Bo graduated from Butte High School in Butte, Montana. Bo was an all-around athlete. He excelled in track, wrestling and his favorite of all, football, where he and his teammates brought home the state championship his senior year.
