Carol Grace Carter, born Jan. 4, 1941, died peacefully at her home in Marengo, Ill. on Oct. 8, 2013 after battling a long illness. Carol was surrounded by her family as she entered Godâ€™s Kingdom.
Carol was born in Detroit, Mich. where 19 years later she met Gary Lynn Carter of Mt. Clemens, Mich. Gary and Carol were married on June 25, 1960. The couple have three children, Brian (Holly) Carter of Elgin, Wendy (Mary Beth) Carter-Siddons of McHenry, and Kevin J. Carter of Rockford.
Glen E. Kirkpatrick, 92, a former Blackfoot resident, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 in Portland, Oregon of age related illness.
Glen was born June 3, 1921on his grandfatherâ€™s homestead on Riverton Road in Blackfoot to James and Mary Cotton Kirkpatrick.Â He was the grandson of William and Henage Garrett Kirkpatrick,Â one of the first homesteaders in the Blackfoot area, arriving in 1866.Â He spent his youth helping his father farm.
Â He attended school in Blackfoot, and high school at Gem State Academy in Caldwell.Â He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Early the morning of Oct. 2, 2013 we lost one of the most precious loveâ€™s of our lives, our daughter Desiree. She succumbed to injuries sustained in a fatal rollover outside of Blackfoot. By Godâ€™s miraculous grace and loving hand her son Kamdon (3 years old) also in the car only sustained minor bruising and a couple of oweeâ€™s as he explains it. Desiree was on an attempt to get away from that which bound and caused her much sorrow in Salt Lake. She was 10 miles from her destination of her earthly fatherâ€™s arms. She did make it into her fatherâ€™s arms. her Heavenly Fatherâ€™s.
Vieto Sampson Appenay, 40, of Fort Hall passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at Portneuf Medical Center from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born June 10, 1973 in Blackfoot, the son of Arnold Appenay and Sandra Strombeck.
He lived most of his life in Fort Hall.Â He attended schools in Fort Hall and Blackfoot.Â He later attended high school at Flandreau Boarding School in South Dakota and graduated in 1991.
Vieto was a security guard at the Fort Hall Casino for the past 10 years.Â He also worked at Teepee gas station and various other positions for the Sho-Ban Tribes.

John Yukio Yamagata
Born May 12, 1917 in Rexburg, ID to Chiyo (Minowa) and Sannosuke Yamagata and passed away on October 1, 2013 in Salt Lake City, at the age of 96.
Patricia Rathbun, 66, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
Patricia was born January 9, 1947 in Bremerton, Washington to Jack Arthur Emmerson and Vera Fay Stubbs.Â She was raised in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1965.Â
On December 5, 1970 Patricia married Logan Rathbun in Idaho Falls, Idaho.Â The lived in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Auburn and Cle Elum Washington, Burley and Blackfoot Idaho.
She was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahâ€™s Witnesses.Â
Bonnie Gail Maxie Price, 63, passed away peacefully early Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, in Arco Idaho after valiantly enduring a 7yr battle with cancer.Â Bonnie was born in Bismarck, North Dakota December 22, 1949 to James E. and Cora Nordby Maxie.Â Bonnieâ€™s family relocated to Malta, Montana where she received her elementary and secondary education.Â Bonnie graduated from Montana State University in 1971 at the age of 21 with credentials as a Registered Nurse specializing in obstetrics and gynecology.Â Bonnie married Eddie L.
Shirley Kaye Stoddard Parker of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away September 27th, 2013 at 93 years of age.Â Â Â She was the oldest daughter of Phyllis Jane Oldham and LeRoy Glen Stoddard and had survived her siblings Lila, Gordon, Keith and Cork.
Barbara Hazel (Burnham) Babneau Herland, 88, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, September 23, 2013 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot after a short stay in the Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a heart attack in early August.Â Her health had been declining due to renal failure the last few years, but remained living independently until this time.
