Jerald J â€śBoâ€ť Bowman, 75, of Blackfoot, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at his home after a year long battle with cancer.
Jerald was born March 10, 1938, in Blackfoot to Jack M Bowman and Mable P. Leavitt.Â He lived his lifetime in Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1956. He attending Idaho State University for two years where he studied accounting and business.
Jerald married his high school sweetheart Eva Mae Grimmett on June 20, 1958. They have two children, Pam and Kip.Â
Jesse J. Whiting, 90, of Blackfoot passed away Sept. 16, 2013, at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot with his family by his side.
Jesse was born June 20, 1923, in Leslie, Idaho, to Lucius Burr and Pearl Johnson Whiting.Â He was raised in the Groveland and Wapello areas and was a member of the first graduating class of Thomas High School.
Jesse was in the U. S. Navy from 1943 through 1946 serving on a PT boat in the Mediterranean including France, Italy and Northern Africa.
On Nov. 9, 1949, Jesse married Erma Jorgensen in Blackfoot.Â They had two children, Lucinda and LeeDel.
Leland â€śLeeâ€ť Date passed away on Sept. 12, 2013 in Idaho Falls.Â
He was born Sept. 28, 1928 in Ucon to Tsunijiro â€śJoeâ€ť and Haruko (Harada) Date.
Â Lee attended grade school in Shelley and high school in Lewisville.Â He lived the majority of his life in Firth, where he farmed.Â He also worked in the construction industry and retired from the Monroc Concrete Company in 1990.Â
Lee attended Bethel Lutheran Church of Firth and was a member of the Japanese American Citizens League.Â He was a United States Army veteran, serving the majority of his time in Monterey, Calif.Â Â Â
Robert Lee Rizer II, 45, passed away at Portneuf Medical Center on September 11, 2013. Robert better known as Bobby to his family was born October 5, 1967 to Robert lee Riser and Margaret Rizer in Columbus Ohio. Bobby was the third of four children. He spent his early childhood in Ohio and then moved to Idaho. He has lived in Blackfoot, Aberdeen and had recently moved to Pocatello. Bobby was blessed with one child Robert Lee Rizer III on January 11, 1994.
Vera Ann Allison, 82, of Blackfoot, slipped away peacefully, Sept. 12, 2013, at the Bingham Memorial Hospital.
Vera was born May 6, 1931 in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of John and Ellen Bowman. She attended school at Douglas County High School where she graduated in 1949.
In May 1952 she married Bruff AllisonÂ in Denver, Colo. Together they had two children.
Vera was a hard worker and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
YAKIMA, Wash. â€” Aloha Gean Harvey was born Oct. 1, 1920 in Salmon to K.E. and Lucille Powell Brown. Aloha Gean had one brother, Kenneth Brown.
She rode her horse Runt to the one-room school house on Lee Creek. She graduated from Leadore High School in 1938. She was raised and went to school there until she met Urban Kluesner. They eloped and got married Oct. 6, 1940 in Dillon, Mont.
Robert â€śBobâ€ť Hansen, 93, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at his sonâ€™s home in Idaho Falls.Â
He was born on Oct. 27, 1919 in Blackfoot, to Melvin and Veda Peterson Hansen.Â He was raised on a farm near Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School, class of 1937.Â He served in the Army in World War II as a corporal.Â
He married Velma â€śTillieâ€ť Anderson on Feb. 24, 1948, in Butte, Mont.Â Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.Â
He owned Bob & Dales Restaurant and also worked as a postal carrier.Â After retiring he ran a taxi service in Blackfoot.Â
Ruth Marcum, 89, of Rexburg and formerly of Blackfoot passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Victor on March 8, 1924 to Ulysses Grant Daniels and Delilah Wardle Daniels.
Â She was raised and attended school in Victor and Jackson Hole, Wyo.Â She graduated from Victor High School, attended Ricks College and Idaho State University receiving her bachelorâ€™s degree in Elementary Education.Â She taught school in Teton Valley and the Snake River School District for 25 years.
Ardeena Nalder Sasser, of Pingree, passed away on Sept. 5, 2013.Â She was 94 years old.Â
Ardeena was born July 29, 1919, the daughterÂ of Archie and Clara Webb Nalder.Â She grew up in Holbrook, attending schools in Holbrook and Kaysville, Utah.Â
Â She married Blaine Sasser on Christmas day 1936 and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.Â She and Blaine settled the family farm in Pingree, where she has livedÂ for the past 74 years.
Our sweet little Conner returned home to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 after a tragic accident.
Â Conner was a special boy with a pure heart who loved his family.Â He loved to play with his brothers.Â Together they would jump on the tramp, throw footballs, play Mario Brothers, ride the four-wheeler, draw pictures, pop popcorn and watch movies.Â He loved dinosaurs, trains, Spiderman and rainbows.Â Conner was especially excited about the go-cart his dad just built for him.
