Vear R. Ellis, 90, of Blackfoot passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at the Veteranâ€™s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, following surgery.
He was born Sept. 4, 1920, in Blackfoot, the son of Wilson Ellis and Sophronia Wolfley Ellis and the youngest of nine children.
He attended school in Riverside. He lived most of his life in the Riverside area with time served in World War II and a short time in California.
On April 2, 1941, he married Loraine Stander in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Eight children were born to this union. They had just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Sandra â€śSandyâ€ť Rossi of Pingree left our world on Sunday, April 17, 2011, from causes related to age and chronic illness.Â She was 66.Â
Sandra Sue Rodgers was born in Blackfoot April 23, 1944, the second daughter and child of Lawrence â€śLarryâ€ť Rodgers and Louise (Clarke) Rodgers.Â With her older sister Sharon, Sandy spent several years under the loving care of their maternal grandmother, Lydia (RaDue) LaFever, and step-grandfather, Bill LaFever, and in the company of many aunts, uncles, and cousins on the family farm at the edge of Blackfoot.
Bobbie Lou Hansen, 82, of Blackfoot passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
Service arrangements are pending and will be announced by Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot.
Lorenzo John Hennefer, 80, of Blackfoot, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello following an illness.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at firstname.lastname@example.org.
CHUBBUCK â€” Carlyle Raymond Bassett, 84, of Chubbuck passed away peacefully at his home with family on Saturday, April 16, 2011.
He was born in Howell, Utah, on Dec. 4, 1927, to Ernest and Lily Bassett.
He served in the Army during World War II.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Betty Jo Bassett, and 11 children, David Blair, Alan Cates, Gary Cates, Randal Cates, Cheron Knight, Darla Cates, all of Fort Hall; Vicki Cervantes of Phoenix, Ariz.; Carol Sanchez of Pocatello; Paul Bassett, Joe Bassett and Kaylene Smith, all of Grand Junction, Colo.
Stewart Lionel Mettz, 69, of Blackfoot passed away Saturday, Arpil 16, 2011 at his home.
He was born Jan. 12, 1942 in Lake Charles, La. He was reared by two wonderful parents, Vernon and Ruth Mettz. He had one brother, Bill Mettz (Becky) and two sisters Sharon Minor (Durr) and Connie Jurischk (Ed).
He loved his grandparents, Jack and Allie Stewart. After graduation from Beaumont High School he went to live with his grandparents and helped his grandfather (Jack Stewart) on his rice farm in DeRidder, La.
Stewart L. Mettz, 69, of Blackfoot, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at his home. Funeral arrangements are pending under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home and will be announced.
Norma Byington, 81, Long time Blackfoot resident, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at The Gables in Idaho Falls from natural causes. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Hawker Funeral Home.
