ST. ANTHONY — The Aberdeen Tigers commenced on a rare double header on the pitch Saturday as they took on both Fremont County teams at their respective home fields.
After catching a 6 A.M bus ride to Ashton the Aberdeen squad picked up a nice 3-2 victory over North Fremont. After that win, Aberdeen then traveled to St. Anthony where they tangled with the Cougars, eventually dropping a defensive struggle 1-0.
REXBURG - The Blackfoot Broncos travelled north to Rexburg to take on the Madison for the Bobcats homecoming game and came away with a 31-8 victory.
The Broncos took advantage of some Bobcat miscues, including hitting a seam pass on the second play of the game, good for a 68 yard pass and catch play for the game's opening score.
"Pilster really made some nice throws tonight," said Coach Stan Buck. "The first pass to (Beau) Hoskins really set the tone for the game tonight."
THOMAS — The Snake River Panthers reverted to the time tested football formula on Saturday evening, pounding the rock with seven different running backs, who amassed 221-yards of rushing between them and then turned the ball over to their stingy defense who collected a trio of turnovers, leading the Panthers to a 26-7 homecoming victory over the Savages of Salmon.
