Bartolo hat trick lifts Broncos into state title game

October 21, 2011

CALDWELL – The Blackfoot Broncos rode the right foot of senior Gerardo Bartolo all the way into the 4A State Soccer Championship game. The talented striker knocked in not one, not two, but all three Blackfoot goals in a hard fought 3-2 victory over Skyview on Friday afternoon at Caldwell High School.
“Right from the beginning of the game you could tell that we were all focused and ready to go,” Bartolo said. “We want to win a championship so badly and we came out attacking, attacking and just taking the game to them. To get three goals, my senior year, well that feels amazing.”

CALDWELL – The Snake River Panthers took a big step towards a 3A state championship on Friday afternoon as they turned in a convincing performance against perennial soccer power Payette with a 6-1 victory.
“The guys just came out and killed it today,” Snake River head coach Trevor Peterson said. “They came out and played an awesome game and I couldn’t be happier.”
Snake River drew first blood in the game in the eighteenth minute of play when a Payette player was called for an intentional hand ball on a ball that was heading for an open goal on a corner kick.
