BLACKFOOT — With the sixth district All-Stars clinging to a 24-17 lead with :02.2 showing on the clock the fifth district squad drew up their best play from the five yard line.
With a five receiver set Snake River signal caller C.J. Toulouse scanned the defense when the ball was snapped wide leading to a wild scramble for the ball. Toulouse got to the ball first, rolled to the right and lofted the ball towards an open receiver in the north end zone, only to see the ball batted away at the last second as the game ended with the sixth district victorious.

BLACKFOOT — Mother Nature showed her bi-polar personality on Wednesday afternoon and the Blackfoot Broncos were swept by Hillcrest as they battled the elements and the Knights falling 10-6 in the opener and then dropped the nightcap 8-6 in eight innings.
"It was a difficult day today," Blackfoot head coach Jeff Katseanes said. "We had our chances, especially there in the second game but we just didn't close it out."

Panthers split with Cats'

June 9, 2011

THOMAS — The Snake River American Legion team picked up a big split with the visiting Madison Cats on Wednesday afternoon by winning game one 6-4 and dropping the late game 14-3 in five innings.
"I think that overall I was pleased with the way that we played today, especially in the first game," Snake River skipper Tom Strickland said. "We played good defense, had some good pitching. In the second game we had a rough first inning or I think that we would have been right in it."

Blackfoot sweeps Snake River in legion action

June 6, 2011

THOMAS — The Book of Isaiah in the Bible says, "And a child shall lead them." So it should be no surprise that when coach Jeff Katseanes turned to 14-year-old Dillon Manzanares as a relief pitcher in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against Snake River, he would come up aces for the Blackfoot Bronco Legion team.
"We expect big things out of Dillon and he will probably set some records in his time as a legion ballplayer," said Katseanes. "He is young, the youngest ball player that we have, but he is tough as nails and pitches very smart."
