THOMAS — Shayla Christensen scored 17 points, 10 during a 20-3 run, to lift Snake River to a 52-32 win over Bear Lake in Fifth District girls' basketball on Friday.
Snake River led just 12-11 after one period. Christensen had six points in the second period as the Panthers built a 24-14 advantage. She added four more points as they opened the third period with an 8-0 burst.
After Bear Lake closed within 35-25 on Chaylie Hulme's two free throws early in the fourth quarter, Christensen started Snake River on a 13-5 run to put the Panthers ahead 48-30.
SHELLEY — For a game that Shelley coach Dave Hadley called a "polar opposite" of the first meeting with Bonneville, the Russets got the similar result they were looking for.
Shelley beat Bonneville 61-47 Friday after taking down the Bees by eight in December.
"In the first meeting, we got off to a great start offensively," Hadley said. "And Jared Stutzman had what? 29, 30 points against us."
It was a different story this time around.
