IDAHO FALLS â€” The Blackfoot cross country squad took to the course at Freeman Park in Idaho Falls on Wednesday and at days end, Rachel Cannon became the first female district champion in recent memory while Paul Cannon and Kohl Bingham each punched a ticket to state in the boys race with fifth and seventh place finishes.
TERRETON â€” There was no wild celebration at the net and no student body rushing the court but despite the relatively low key celebration, the Firth Cougar volleyball squad were all smiles on Wednesday evening as they capped an undefeated conference season with a solid 3-1 victory over Ririe 25-15, 25-20, 18-25 and 25-18 to capture the 2A Nuclear Conference championship.
SHELLEY â€” The Shelley Russet volleyball squad entered Tuesday nights conference tournament needing nine wins for a district championship. At the end of a very loud, and very dominant evening, they got all nine of those wins in just ten of the possible fifteen games, as they downed Teton 3-0 and then Sugar-Salem 3-0 and 3-1 while punching their ticket to the state tournament with a 3A Mountain Rivers Conference Championship.
