IDAHO FALLS — The 4A boys soccer consolation championship match went as far as it could go on a blustery Saturday morning as the Blackfoot Broncos and the Jerome Tigers played dead even through 100 minutes of play before the Broncos prevailed by winning the match 4-2 on penalty kicks.
"I felt that this game summed up our entire tournament," Blackfoot head coach Liam Pope said. "We had lots of chances but we were just wasteful in front of the goal and then we have a little lapse on the defensive end and give up a cheap goal. Honestly, I don't think that this game should have gone to penalty kicks."
BLACKFOOT — The Blackfoot Broncos got back in the saddle on Friday night as they shook off their first loss of the season by dominating conference rival Pocatello 34-13.
"I'm pretty happy with the way we played," Blackfoot head coach Stan Buck said. "The defense played well and really got us going in the game. They made lots of stops which then got our offense going."
