BLACKFOOT — A group of baseball lovers gathered at Mountain View Middle School on Monday night. They tested chili and helped the Blackfoot American Legion team raise money for the 2012 season.
"We hope to raise $4,000," said coach Jeff Katseanes. "That would pay for our uniforms and the umpires for the season."
The American Legion baseball season will begin the end of May and continue through the end of July. Katseanes said he hopes to put together a schedule of about 80 games.

SHELLEY — For a game that Shelley coach Dave Hadley called a "polar opposite" of the first meeting with Bonneville, the Russets got the similar result they were looking for.
Shelley beat Bonneville 61-47 Friday after taking down the Bees by eight in December.
"In the first meeting, we got off to a great start offensively," Hadley said. "And Jared Stutzman had what? 29, 30 points against us."
It was a different story this time around.

BLACKFOOT — With just over four seconds remaining, Blackfoot's Keith Moore got a dream look at the basket from the right baseline where the senior let fly with a three ball that was on line but unfortunately, the ball went just long as it caromed off of the back iron and into the hands of the Madison rebounder.
The three, would have tied the game at 55-55 but instead, the Broncos had to foul the Madison player where he knocked down both free throws and despite a basket at the buzzer by Colby Pearson, the Broncos fell to the fourth ranked team in the state by the final tally of 57-54.
