BLACKFOOT â The Blackfoot Lady Broncos were hoping for a comeback after the first time they faced off against the Madison Bobcats. Although they did not swipe the win, they closed the gap from that first outing but still came up just short in the 55-45 defeat.
âIt is a bit frustrating. We had them for three quarters, but we have not learned to finish the game,â Blackfoot head coach Merle Smith said.
FIRTH â County foes collided at Firth High School on Tuesday night as the Aberdeen Tigers traveled to Firth to do battle with the Cougars.
The game certainly wasn't the sharpest of contests from either squads standpoint and in the end, it was the home standing Cougars who prevailed, earning the season sweep of the Tigers with a 61-44 victory.
THOMAS â Desmond Miles scored five points in the final 64 seconds of overtime to lift Sugar-Salem to a 48-44 non-conference boys' basketball victory over Snake River on Tuesday.
Miles' 3-point basket with 1:04 remaining in the extra session gave Sugar-Salem (9-5) a 43-42 lead. His two free throws with 3.3 seconds left sealed the deal.
Sugar-Salem dominated the first half, building a 24-11 lead on Zach Jeppson's trey with 4:46 left in the second quarter. The Diggers led 26-14 at halftime.
SHELLEY â What started out as a tight contest quickly turned south in a hurry for the Shelley Lady Russets on Tuesday night as the visiting Bees turned in a big 23 point second quarter, en route to a 61-45 High Country Conference win at Shelley.

THOMAS â The Snake River Panthers got 17 points from senior guard Shane Parkinson and the defense turned in a dominating performance as the Panthers locked down the Aberdeen Tigers 61-28 on Friday evening.
THOMAS â Sometimes it's not how you start but how you finish. On Thursday evening the Snake River Panthers shook off a first quarter in which they mustered just one field goal and then finished with a huge 24 point burst in the fourth quarter to pick up a key 54-36 win over conference rival Marsh Valley.
BLACKFOOT â The Blackfoot Bronco wrestling team took advantage of 5 forfeits and then flexed their collective muscle to win 8 of the 10 remaining matches as they galloped through High Country Conference foe Hillcrest to the final tally of 69-9 on Wednesday evening.
BLACKFOOT â Behind a 25-point outburst by Chad Leckington, the Shelley Russets picked up a huge road conference win as they overcame a seven point half time deficit to down the home standing Blackfoot Broncos 83-70 in a High Country Conference shootout on Tuesday evening.
