BLACKFOOT — Down a point entering the fourth quarter of their conference tilt with Bonneville on Thursday evening the Blackfoot Lady Broncos turned to their full court press. That change paid immediate dividends as they turned the Lady Bees over on three straight possessions leading to a quick 6-0 run for a 36-31 lead.
Unfortunately, the Lady Broncos could not seal the deal down the stretch however as Bonneville knocked down 9 of 12 free throw attempts over the final two minutes of play to pull away late for the 50-41 High Country Conference victory.
FIRTH — In a massive 2A Nuclear Conference match up the Firth Cougars out dueled perennial powerhouse North Fremont 39-21 on the home mats Thursday evening.
"Psychologically it's a big win for us when you consider North Fremont's tradition and all of their state championships," Firth head coach Keith Drake said. "I'm proud of the kids, they wrestled well. We're far from perfect but if our younger kids continue to improve we might be able to take that next step."
