Milton Junior âJayâ Cotterell, 85, of Provo, Utah, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at the Courtyard at the Jamestown Enhanced Care and Assisted Living Facility in Provo.
Jay (as he was called by his friends) was born Oct. 16, 1926 in Arimo, Idaho. and moved to Moreland at the early age of 3.Â He is the son of Milton Hope Cotterell and Gertrude Eva England McKnight.Â Before the age of 4, Harrison McKnight became his father.

BLACKFOOT â Although Tommy Vaughn's Grill has been a member of the Greater Blackfoot Chamber of Commerce from Day One in October, general manager Tyler Rupe formalized that membership with a ribbon-cutting on Tuesday.
"We respect everybody in the Chamber," Rupe said, "all the great business leaders in our community. We see the networking between everybody, that they all work so well together and we want to be a part of that."
BLACKFOOT â Mill Creek Metals now has a signed five-year contract with Bingham County for operating the county's transfer station. Bingham County commissioners and Mill Creek Metals representatives signed the contract Monday.
Mill Creek Metals has agreed to run the transfer station for five years at a cost of $6.25 per ton.
Part of the contract states Mill Creek Metals can take plastic, cardboard and metals out of the waste stream and recycle them.
BLACKFOOT â Two Blackfoot businesses on South Broadway were burglarized Friday night or Saturday morning.
Royal Cleaners, 733 S. Broadway, reported that someone forced entry into the business and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.
Tanglez Hair & Nail Salon also reported that items were taken from the business at its new location at 207 S. Broadway. There was no forced entry.
IDAHO FALLS âÂ Even the weather honored U.S. Army Sgt. Ryan David Sharp at his funeral Monday. It was balmy and bright.
Sharp, age 28, died Saturday, Dec. 3, at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, from injuries suffered while on a military mission in Afghanistan's Kandahar province as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sharp was carrying a fallen soldier back to the safety of the company stronghold when he was hit by a improvised explosive device (IED). He lived 12 days before succumbing to his injuries.
It's hard for Barry Humpherys to realize that it has been 15 years since he graduated from Blackfoot High School.
But the U.S. Marine Corps captain has accomplished a lot since May of 1996.
BLACKFOOT â Singing sensation David Archuleta brought the Christmas sprit to Blackfoot Friday night with his "My Kind of Christmas Tour."
And for those who got to meet Archuleta before the concert, Christmas came early.
Approximately 30 people attended a VIP meet and greet with Archuleta prior to the show Friday night and got autographs, photos and a mini-private concert.
