SHELLEY â Healthy eating was front and center Saturday at The Ribbon Retreat in Shelley.
Barbara Moultonâs cookbook, âJust for the Health of It!â debuted. Moulton is from Shelley and is a registered dietitian and diabetes educator with Rocky Mountain Diabetes.
âWhen someone is diagnosed with diabetes, one of his or her first questions is, âWhat can I eat?ââ Moulton said. âThis book uses real food found in everyoneâs kitchen to help answer that question.â
âIâve always enjoyed cooking and changing recipes to make them healthier,â she said.
Larry A. Grimmett, 63, of Blackfoot passed away June 26, 2011, at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a long illness.
Larry was born on May 5, 1948, in John Day, Ore., to Elden Grimmett and Ethel Sims Grimmett Savage.
He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Cypress, Calif., and then served in the United States Army in Vietnam.Â
Larry worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a carman welder for 30 years.Â
Delbert Lee Duchscher, 56, of Blackfoot passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at his home.
He was born on Dec. 16, 1954, in Blackfoot to Delbert Roy Herman and Jennie Mae McCalluy.Â He has lived his entire life in Blackfoot.Â He attended school in the Snake River School District.
Delbert served in the United States Army.
On Feb. 10, 1982, he married Thelma Jones in Rigby, they were later divorced.Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Delbert was a truck driver for many years and enjoyed being on the road.
He liked be outdoors, fishing, camping, wrestling and watching WWC.
Randee Colin Bowman, 58, of Blackfoot, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at his home.
According to his wishes no services are planned at this time.

Danny Junior Eagle, 58, of Pocatello passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Portneuf Care and Rehabilitation Center in Pocatello.
Danny was born Nov. 9, 1952, in Pocatello to Ella Sambo and Paul Eagle of Fort Hall.Â Later in childhood he was adopted by Homer and Nell Cutler of Ross Fork Creek.
Danny attended school in the Fort Hall area and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1971.Â While in high school he was active in the Rodeo Club, FFA and Indian Club.
Bailey Marie Morgan, 4-month-old infant daughter of Pocatello residents Kelly and Diane Morgan, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Survivors include her parents, Kelly Joseph Morgan and Diane Marie McFetridge Morgan, her sister Brooke Ann Morgan (2), all of Pocatello, grandparents Virgil and Debbie Morgan, Ione, Ore., and Darrell and Marlie McFetridge of Enterprise, Ore.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at the Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends for an hour prior to services.
Barbara Jane Poole Fowers Pendlebury, age 89, died on June 25, 2011, at home in Blackfoot following a lingering illness.
She was born on May 16, 1922, in Rexburg, the daughter of Leslie E. and Leona Hoopes Poole. She attended two years of elementary school in Rexburg, then finished her education in Idaho Falls, graduating from Idaho Falls High School in 1940. She also attended the University of Idaho. She cherished the memories of the years she spent with her beloved grandparents in Rexburg, and had many friends throughout her life who touched her deeply.
BLACKFOOT â Last years defending champion Steve Tarkon is going pro. He has stated this on many occasions and local golfers would like nothing better than to see the spry young 24 year old pack his bags and head out onto the professional tour because over the weekend, Tarkon successfully defended his Von Elm championship by firing a two day total 139 en route to the 2011 title.
BLACKFOOT â The Blackfoot Performing Arts Center now has a piece of fine art adorning one of its walls thanks to the generosity of a local man.
L. DeWayne Young commissioned a painting from Blackfoot artist J. Ken Spencer and then donated the painting to the BPAC in memory of his late friend Dr. Donald E. Silvius, who died Dec. 24, 2010. Spencer and Young were at the BPAC Saturday to meet with community members during an open house and unveiling of the painting.
IDAHO FALLS â The ultra-relay race, To Bone and Back, was last Saturday. In this event, runners race to the small farming community of Bone, 20 miles from Idaho Falls. The teams then complete the race by retracing their path to Idaho Falls. Bone is east and south of Idaho Falls.
A small bone is exchanged between teammates at each checkpoint.
Reasons for running vary.
