Stephen Carroll Holmes, 56

March 23, 2011

 Stephen Carroll Holmes, 56, of Idaho Falls passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his home.
He was born Dec. 22, 1954, in Pocatello to Richard Leroy Holmes and Pauline Marie Seidel.
He attended schools in Blackfoot and received his GED in the military. He served in the Army, stationed in Germany from 1972-1974.
He married Cherokee Bush, they were later divorced. He then married Lisa Ann Turnbow and they were later divorced. He then married Angela Visser and they were later divorced.
Stephen was a parishioner in the Catholic Church.

One arrested in Firth man's death

IDAHO FALLS — A Firth man was shot and killed in Idaho Falls early Tuesday morning. Police arrested one man in connection to the shooting and are still seeking a second man who may have been involved.
Anthony "A.J." Camp, 24, of Firth, was shot in the back while driving in the area of the 500 block of W. 20th Street in Idaho Falls approximately 3 a.m. His car, a white Honda Civic, struck a parked car, then a house on the next block, according to the Idaho Falls Police Department.

Second-grader injured in collision with car

BLACKFOOT – Ridge Crest Elementary second-grader Enid McMahon was transported by ambulance to Bingham Memorial Hospital Tuesday after she was hit by a car near the school.
McMahon darted into traffic on Airport Road when walking home from school and hit the back end of a vehicle. According to her family, she sustained a compound fracture of the leg and was being prepared for surgery Tuesday evening.
"We encourage parents and everyone to slow down and be careful in school zones," said Ridge Crest Principal Colin Folsom.

New Scouts learn first aid

RIVERSIDE – New Scouts participated in extended first aid instruction Saturday. The 11-year old Boy Scouts worked on their First Aid Merit Badge and First Aid requirements for rank advancements.
Kevin Heiner, district leader over New Scouts, says he has worked nearly every day for the past several months organizing the event. He had expert instruction available for the boys including doctors, EMT’s, firefighters, educators and “Scouters.”

Walter Taylor Greaves, 94, of Pocatello passed away Monday, March 21, 2011, at the Idaho State Veteran’s Home in Pocatello.

Randy Lee Snell, 55, passed away March 20, 2011 in Blackfoot.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the Grantsville, Utah, LDS Stake Center, 550 East on Durfee Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to family members to help with the funeral expenses.

Clint Brooks Buxton, 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Arco on March 17, 2011.
Funeral wervices will be  held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, at the Arco LDS Church. A viewing will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service. Services are under the direction of Anderson Family Funeral Home 2555 N. Highway 93, Arco.

Franklin J. Colson, 80

Franklin J. Colson, 80, of Blackfoot passed away Friday, March 18, 2011, at South Davis Hospital in Bountiful, Utah, of Lou Gehrig’s disease.
He was born March 1, 1931, in Sterling, the son of Byrd Franklin Colson and Afton Ileen Cooper.
Frank was raised and educated in the Snake River School District and was the first student body president of the Snake River High School. He was one of the first to graduate from Snake River High School.

Gerald James Oats, 60

Gerald James Oats, Chief Standing (Center Pole), 60, of Pocatello, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello from complications due to lingering illness.
Jerry was born on Jan. 9, 1951, in Fort Belknap, Mont., to Dan and Flora (LaMere) Oats. He grew up in Pingree and graduated from Blackfoot High School. He participated in baseball and other sports and was very athletic. He received a bachelor’s degree in Government and Computer Science from Idaho State University.
